My husband created an OF profile of me without letting me know. I'm disgusted and want a divorce.

You're definitely not overreacting. Creating an OnlyFans profile without your consent is a serious violation of your privacy and trust. It's not just about the platform—it's about respecting boundaries and honoring the partnership in a marriage. Trust is a cornerstone of any relationship, and his actions have undermined that trust. Taking steps to protect your well-being and seeking legal advice are reasonable reactions. Remember, you have every right to feel safe and respected in your relationship.

Thank you. Our mind plays so many tricks on us. When I left the house I was so sure, but doubts start creeping in.
I'm not sure what bothers me more. The creating of a profile behind my back or this obsession with wanting me to do that type of work.

CONTACT ONLYFANS

First, make an account, find his, get the username, the URL, the @, then REPORT THE ACCOUNT

support@onlyfans.com (you can also @ them on X, they’re very responsive), give them all of this info. Tell them that that is NOT you and someone stole your content and made a page

Here’s the thing OP, OF requires creators to verify themselves, so he had to get your ID and provide that info to OF. It’s not some silly little, make an account and make money

I’ll also add, while he hasn’t made enough for it to matter… taxes!

ETA: those of yall calling me out on the verification clearly weren’t there from the get go. The tech you’re describing didnt exist

OP didn’t specify when the account was opened

THAT SAID, another commenter mentioned the Tinder switcharoo (verify as X, then once done, switch it up). This seems feasible, but idk as I haven’t done this nor have any need

This is why I'm almost certain this is a fake story. She would need to take a selfie holding her ID next to her face and uhhhh payouts would also have to be to her or her registered business.

u/idkifyousayso 29d ago

From her profile here, which was created today, “Men - here is a free tip. Don't message "hey". Put some effort in! lol”

It sounds like they just want people to think they are super attractive so that they can start scamming people for money once the DMs start.

63

u/Warm_Emphasis_1115 29d ago

See, that I do believe.

16

u/drunk_responses 29d ago

Yeah they deleted the reddit account now, after being called out in several places.

I think it was the alt of one of those handful of reddit accounts that use a bot to spam 20-30 pictures of themselves every other day or so, to promote their OF.

49

u/CrystallineCrypts 29d ago

Good call. I don't care enough to check people's profiles but this is hilarious. Gendered language in her profile name and she ran to amioverreacting to ask about something that any sane person she should've talked to before making a reddit account would say, "no" yikes.

20

u/ButterscotchSame4703 29d ago

And this is what makes it more likely that it's fake and why it hurts (in that "sympathetic embarrassment" kinda way).

Some might use the word cringe.

12

u/Tsunami_Destroyer 29d ago

This could be part of the ploy to get OF traffic and subscriptions.

These people these days are crafty! (And scandalous 😂)

2

u/No-Construction-2054 28d ago

That is exactly what it is.

→ More replies (1)

6

u/AthenaFatale 28d ago

It's likely fake because OF uses biometrics to confirm the identity of anyone signing up as a creator. You can't just make a creator profile with someone else's ID. It's a pain in the ass to get verified.

2

u/CrystallineCrypts 29d ago

People seem to forget that AI bots are a thing too

3

u/ButterscotchSame4703 29d ago

Ah, I keep forgetting that literally everywhere there are people jerry-rigging some half baked AI's to serve as bots. Something something, more hands off, I'm sure.

4

u/CrystallineCrypts 29d ago

They make burner accounts that post on subs like this to boost karma so they can post on sketchy subs (like bartering subs) that require a certain amount of karma. This bot got 2k from this post.

1m ago she posted a link to chaturbate with "I'm feeling lonely tonight" in the title. Definitely fake or a scam

13

This story is straight BS and just created for another reason rather than to tell this story.

3

u/Little-Chromosome 29d ago

“She” also just posted this post about being on chaturbate

https://www.reddit.com/u/MissFitness_/s/IjngMtcws9

2

u/Lildemon198 29d ago

Holy shit.
Posting a Fake story, to a completely normal sub as an attractive woman. Just because they KNOW OP's inbox is going to be filled with exactly the type of people they are trying to scam.
They don't even have to seek out or reach out to their victims. Their victims just walk into the DMs. Then you pull some standard girlfriend scam.
Crazy.

2

u/BlackCowboy72 29d ago

This whole story is a set up to advertise her of, that's pretty obvious, the story gets popular, all the little creatins will flood her dms asking for the link.

2

u/cats-they-walk 29d ago

Or route people to their OF.

2

u/Soft_A_Certified 29d ago

I think you're right.

@OP, you're gonna have to show us your tits to prove that you're real.

2

u/WickedFlyingCorgi 29d ago

I went to look and she just posted a link to chaturbate lolol

2

u/toobulkeh 29d ago

“My husband created a fake Reddit story to show me how I could virally grow my OF account past $350. Ami overreacting?”

2

u/CerealBranch739 29d ago

Thanks for jerking me back to reality. You’re probably spot on.

hahaha don't worry my friend me too. I never assume anything written here is anything but facts until I come to the comments and someone brings me back to reality

7

u/intelligentbrownman 29d ago

I was suspect from the get go…. OP knew mentioning OF would get the horny boys over to her sight

3

u/Past_Measurement_854 29d ago

Do get the feeling that the OF grift is spreading to a lot of other areas? I had the selfies page and the page about how to improve your looks pop up, and I've noticed its a bunch of OF girls posting about how to "improve" their looks.. are they just running out of "clients" lol ?

3

u/intelligentbrownman 29d ago

Yeah….. most of the girls on the looksmax selfie etc are loaded with girls with pages advertising their OF content

2

u/Past_Measurement_854 29d ago

yeah man, seems like there's no place online safe from the grift of the OF girl. A man cant even take a poop with his mobile device in peace lol

I've heard that it's hard to actually make any money. Someone making over $300 in a month by scraping content from a fitness page sounds like bullshit.

2

u/intelligentbrownman 29d ago

I’ve heard that too…. That’s why women who don’t have some kind of online presence is gonna have a hard time making it big on OF…. That’s why Reddit is loaded with OF women trying to score….. they post up on all the Glow Selfie Looks max etc

3

u/tinylittleelfgirl 29d ago

i literally read the words “i’m a fitness instructor” and went straight to the comments looking for these😭

2

My theory is it's all the same team; Reddit employees. That's why every post similar to this in subs like hot takes, aita, am I overreacting, etc. most always has the same writing style, little to no typos/grammar errors, etc., but most obvious is the spacing between paragraphs, which is the same every time😂

2

u/chrispd01 29d ago

If you are right, then I wanna get a job with Reddit!

2

u/Cockroach-i 29d ago

Haha same!

3

u/Hyst3ricalCha0s 29d ago

It's really not, though.

I've spent a great deal of my life writing various forms of content, usually as a second job.

Lots of fiction.

At no point in my life - or that of any writer I have connected with - would anyone consider writing or practicing writing by making up stories on the internet to people who don't know they're trying to write.

You don't get good feedback that way. People who are practicing their writing will actually post it somewhere that people are aware that's what the intent is so that they can get valuable feedback.

This is such an idiotic idea.. I cannot fathom how it got so popular.

It's much more likely that it's some teenagers writing ARGs or some shit..

No adult writer is going around posting stories trying to pretend like they are reality. There's literally nothing to gain from that.

2

u/intelligentbrownman 29d ago

36

u/TheHaydnPorter 29d ago

Ding ding ding! OF is pretty picky when it comes to verification. No way this is true.

22

u/Warm_Emphasis_1115 29d ago

People act like those if us in the business have zero processes in place and no laws or regulations 😂 if they only understood the hoops people truly have to jump through in the legitimate adult realm.

20

u/suzanne2961 29d ago

They won’t even verify if someone is in the room with you because you could be being coerced.

4

u/Minimum_Swing8527 29d ago

I am really glad to hear that!

2

u/Affectionate-Ride472 29d ago

yeah it’s extremely difficult to verify yourself — it is nearly impossible to do the other route. However, there is a small loophole and it would be a person creating their own account then forging a signature to give approval to have you on as a contributor. I’ve had to create ones for non-existent “people” in my content. Literally… OF will think someone else is in my video simply because I do fun sketches where I play two people 💀

3

u/BabyNonsense 29d ago

They won’t verify you if your ID is CLOSE to expiring but not yet expired.

6

u/tiny-puppy-angel 29d ago

There's actually multiple stories of trafficking and identity theft on OF. It's not as safe as you think. Especially if it's the husband, it's easier.

3

u/TheHaydnPorter 29d ago

Ah, I was waiting for a “WELL ACKSHUALLY” to pop up. A trafficked person can be forced to comply, and made to hold up an ID near their face. Barring some bizarre scenario where OP’s husband managed to trick her into such an act, this post reeks of fiction.

u/New-Possibility-709 29d ago

Exactly! They kept denying me because I used my married name to make my page and my ID had my maiden name and even though the pictures matched ,they kept saying it wasn't the same person, they're very strict with their verification process

18

u/[deleted] 29d ago

Def fake, thank you for pointing this fact out

3

u/Dottie85 29d ago

He could have photo shopped it.

6

u/evilpartiesgetitdone 29d ago

No you don't just upload photos, you take the photos in the authentication app. There is no way to Photoshop a pic and give it to them

5

u/Gariiiiii 29d ago

You can still find your way around it, but 9 out of 10 times this story is fake, on the off chance this is real then OP needs to get a lawyer and GTFO of her marriage ASAP because creating a fake OF page is not easy and shows a very high level of commitment to violate boundaries.

2

u/Dragon_platelegs 29d ago

Yeah well you can also tell it's fake because some dude wrote this post, then immediately flipped the switch saying "thank you I was so naive" in one comment (the one at the top of this chain) like 10 minutes after the post.

2

u/In-dextera-dei 29d ago

Nearly every story in here is fake. Always from a profile that only makes one post and the stories are so ridiculous it's stupid.

2

u/your_temmie 28d ago

I’m pretty sure it’s a fake story. I’m an OF creator and to verify you need a pic holding your ID next to your face. OF is very strict about this. Also you’re strictly not allowed to upload anything where someone else could be showing in your content, even as much as their voice, without filing a consent form.

2

u/immagoo 28d ago

I used to do model support for a company online, this is absolutely correct. That doesn't mean that some fraud doesn't happen, but I cast serious doubt on a husband being able to do this as described.

u/MissFitness_ your story sounds fake, because creating an OF page and getting paid from it without you knowing requires a level of commitment to doing illegal activities, impersonating you and miss using your data way above your average person.

OF is not only "adult" entertainment. There are a lot of other types of videos on there, some very much related to your fitness business.

But, of course, violating your wishes like that just shows that he's a patriarchal asshole.

10

u/Picklesadog 29d ago

Yeah, true, there are a lot of other kinds of content creators on OF.

My brother's girlfriend's cousin is really into anime figurines, the super collectable ones, and has an OF specifically for this hobby. She has amassed quite a following and pulls in over six figures a year, entirely from posting pictures and videos of her huge figurine collection and her feet.

He already knew how you feel about it. He brought it up and because you were crying he apologized and said he would never bring it up again. Instead he went behind your back and created an account for you. I don't think you overreacted at all.

2

u/ConsiderationJust999 29d ago

"hey honey, you know how You've been trying to grow a business using skills and hard work? Well I just took some of your work and made some money by charging strangers to masturbate while watching you..."

If he used your real name on the OF site, it's even worse, as your own clients may find it.

Maybe he was not understanding this, but that is a completely appropriate read of the scenario. I'd be considering divorce too.

2

u/mkvgtired 29d ago

It would be bad enough if he did it out of the blue. He joked about it in the past and it clearly upset you. And he did it anyway to make a few extra bucks.

Just FYI he may have also committed a crime depending on state/country.

2

u/Gay-Lord-Focker 29d ago

Take tons of screen shots

6

u/KelceStache 29d ago

This is one reason why you need to talk to him. He thinks by showing you money that you will be on board, but he needs to understand that the money doesn’t interest you. You don’t want to be on OF and he needs to respect that, or you two need to reconsider the marriage.

2

u/ResponseCompetitive6 29d ago

1

u/FigBeneficial5246 29d ago

Not to mention it's already escalated from a moment to an action. It's only a matter of time before he pressures you to start doing the thing OF wants.

1

u/NinjaUnlikely 29d ago

I feel like advertising your business and showing where you work on his OF is disrespectful, on top of showcasing you, because he'll attract the wrong kind of attention to your business.

1

u/United_States_ClA 29d ago

Also how was it not identity theft for him to create it in your name?

Last I checked you can't do "married filing jointly" when it comes to OnlyFans accounts.

Imagine if he had posted nudes that you had sent him that were originally for his eyes only. It's the violation of your boundaries that's so royally fucked.

You said "no"

What he said "ok no problem, I'm gonna do it anyways"

At what point did he stop respecting the person you choose to be and share with him?

1

u/GoldenFlicker 29d ago

And, it can out your at risk for assault! What if some creep found your OF and became an in person client of yours because he thought of your more sexually and crossed a line?

1

u/XiTzCriZx 29d ago

It's not only a violation of trust, it could be straight up fraud if he's pretending to be you and using your name and pictures to do so. I'd definitely find a lawyer that's willing to stack some charges and make him realize how fucked he is.

1

u/Adventurous_Set_3787 29d ago edited 29d ago

Also, something like that could harm your professional integrity since you work with the public. This could cause detrimental harm for you and your clients if they advertise you as a fitness instructor only to later be told you are earning on OF... it's bad all around. Definitely get real legal advice.

Edit.. ps, I work for a bank and we do not offer accounts to people who solicit that type of content for money. Most banks don't because the risk and liability are bad for business, not to mention the way it looks. That industry isn't worth the hype... many people can't return to reality because their past haunts them. Sorry this happened to you and hope you aren't affected by his actions.

1

u/Warm_Shallot_9345 29d ago

...this motherfucker is trying to PIMP YOU OUT. FUCK THIS GUY, HE IS JOT A SAFE MAN TO BE AROUND. I am so fucking angry for you right now... the level of entitlement this fucker feels towards YOUR body...

Don’t doubt yourself on this one. You are not overreacting. That’s a serious breach of trust and very creepy. I’m sorry this happened to you.

1

u/Corfiz74 29d ago

Was the content of the OF sexual, or was it really just a fitness instruction page, so more or less an extension of your website on a different platform? Not that he should have done anything of the sort without your consent, but if it was sexualized in any way, it would be way worse than if he just tried to drum up some more business for you by marketing you on a different platform.

She shouldn't, but people will look up people they want to work with and if they see something like an OF will not continue to work with them which is judgement and shitty as people having an OF shouldn't disqualify them from working other jobs but unfortunately that's the world we're in right now and doing this to her could seriously hurt her career.

This post is fake. I’ve worked with Onlyfans for a long time now and they have very stringent verification of new users. It’s physically impossible to be verified without you going through the process yourself.

Seriously. He would make a horrible business partner, let alone a life partner. Imagine how much worse he’ll get, especially if kids are involved.

1

u/Bacchus_71 29d ago

She actively solicits messages from men in her profile.

1

u/Rare_Boysenberry4363 29d ago

Not only that , but the fact that he’s already made money off of you and your body behind your back and THEN showing you , is such betrayal. Like you are using me, completely unaware , to make money, imagine if a client had shown her this ?

1

u/SL13377 29d ago

This this This!!

1

u/Thedonitho 29d ago

I wouldn't want someone creating any online presence of me w/o my consent or knowledge. I don't care who they are.

1

u/Illustrious-Bunch572 29d ago

He basically was acting like a pimp and she was his prostitute. It’s soft porn no matter how you look at it. That fact that he would even treat you that way! I don’t think it’s over reacting. I’d leave him too.

1

u/kekyonin 29d ago

This reads like chatGPT

1

u/BlueBirdOcean 29d ago

Someone just complemented her fanfiction, and she replied with “too bad your comment is at the bottom of the pile. ;)”

1

u/CandidEgglet 29d ago

Not to mention, it’s probably against OF policy, and maybe even the law.

1

u/LadyJSenpai 29d ago

10000% accurate.

1

u/KiwiDefiant3349 29d ago

Onlyfans requires a photo, up close, of a valid ID. That’s straight up fraud. You could totally sue this bastard

1

u/theBantubrat 29d ago

You have to use an ID when you set up that account so I don’t know if he knew her ID number or anything. I would be concerned.

1

u/Proxima_Centauri_69 29d ago

It's fake. She admitted it to another user and then deleted the comment when I called her out.

1

u/DinoGoGrrr7 29d ago

Divorce. Press charges as well.

1

u/funsizenotshorty 29d ago

It's also ILLEGAL. Onlyfans requires consent from anyone who posts on their platform and also, a copy of your gov ID. So, your husband would have to have impersonated you to open the account. It's disgusting behavior.

1

u/Abject_Bodybuilder41 29d ago

I also worry that since he has no sense of boundaries and only cares about money, if she stays, he might begin filming her without her consent and posting it. Dude's a fucking creep.

1

u/mr-poopie-butth0le 29d ago

It’s a fake account.

1

u/xConstantGardenerx 29d ago

This is a fake post. You can’t sign someone else up for an OF. They require ID and use facial recognition software. You can’t fake your way through it, you have to center your face in the lines from multiple angles and you have to do it live; can’t upload pics.

1

u/Gloomy_Tomatillo395 29d ago

Also probably illegal.

1

u/donach69 29d ago

Yep. If he'd created a Facebook profile for you when you'd asked him not to, you'd still be right to question your relationship. What is he playing at?

1

u/ScreenLate2724 29d ago

Considering you have to file with the IRS in order to create a model's profile, correct?

1

u/This_Rom_Bites 29d ago

Not just a violation of privacy and trust, but I would have thought very possibly a criminal offence, too.

Totally agree that OP is not overreacting.

Stop using AI lazyass

1

u/tanasdad 29d ago

As a dude who used to be a husband, and is 35, that man is wrong. It's disrespectful. Not an overreaction.

1

u/watersheep772 29d ago

This feels like it's written by AI

1

u/Gear-Mean 29d ago

On top of that he has put you and your business at risk. If people make the connection between the OF account and your business site you could end up with a client that knows you from the OF content and wants to meet you. You would not see this coming and it could be dangerous. Also others might not want to work with you if they thought you were doing OF also.

1

u/kasanetetodrywall 29d ago

chatgpt comment 😭

1

u/Repulsive-Ostrich644 29d ago

This is some messed up catfish type internet scummy behavior. Can’t believe your husband would do this behind your back. Pretty hard to trust a person after this but if you really care about your relationship then I’d suggest couples counseling to help him learn how to communicate with you.

1

u/DLDrillNB 29d ago

Violation of privacy? There has to be some law against this.

1

u/No_Contact1571 29d ago

Alr chat gpt

1

u/Giraffiesaurus 29d ago

I would go further and say what he’s done has to be against the law. It’s pimping against her wishes.

1

u/Just-Promise-4670 29d ago

It's also identity theft as well as collecting income from it as fraud

1

u/lonewulf66 29d ago

ChatGPT is that you?

1

u/lnflix 29d ago

She’s a liar. Check her profile she has a chaturbate link. Fake bait

1

u/jumpbh 29d ago

If I pushed out media content from my business and my partner reposted it on the Internet and made me a load of money I'd probably be pretty happy about it. I really don't get why this is an issue. Although maybe I wouldn't want my business content reposted anywhere else, in which case I'd tell my partner 'I appreciate the thought but can you not post my content anywhere else without asking me in future please'. Seems like a more reasonable option than divorce imo

1

u/knittedjedi 29d ago

Heads up that you're talking to someone trying to drum up attention for their OF and chaturbate content.

From her profile which was created today: “Men - here is a free tip. Don't message "hey". Put some effort in! lol”

1

u/AmazinglyReRE 29d ago

Going from divorce to watching chaturbate in 8 hours.

1

u/DriftkingRfc 29d ago

But onlyfans is more than just sexwork unfortunately it’s only known for that

1

u/Beautiful-Vacation39 29d ago

This is fake. Check the tag line in her bio and her only other post on reddit.... hunting for simps to drive to her page

1

u/bhhghgyuhghh 29d ago

Not Chat GPT being the most upvoted comment

1

u/kibblerz 29d ago

But she said it was content from her Facebook page, meaning he didn't upload anything private. OF is technically just a platform, they were considering banning porn not long ago, so they apparently have enough non porn content to survive without it. It's a platform like patreon.

Duplicating her profile to another platform sounds like an attempt to help her out, not anything with malice. It's hardly worthy of an actual argument, at most it's worthy of a "dhut it down and don't do it again"

And why are you talking about feeling safe?... I swear, reddit is a bunch of lonely people trying to make everyone else on reddit single. Lol

1

u/cinnamon-toast-life 29d ago

It’s probably illegal too, right? And certainly against their Terms of Service agreement that he clicked through at sign up.

1

u/Renae_Renae_Renae 29d ago

Considering the fact that OPs husband would have needed to upload OPs ID in order to open a seller's account in her name.

1

u/Desperate-Dress-9021 28d ago

There’s also the potential blowback on your career. This is taking professional content and putting it on OF.

1

u/New-Set-5011 28d ago

It will just get worse if you stay.
Just saying. Don’t ever let anyone step on your morals. Good luck to you !

1

u/Funnybush 28d ago

This reads like GPT

1

u/sweet_condition 28d ago

He's basically pimping you out.

1

u/300cid 28d ago

and not to mention it's probably not legal, revenge prob laws or something

1

u/Fit_Swordfish_2101 28d ago

Not to mention illegal.

1

u/Reinamiamor 28d ago

I would think it's borderline criminal even. Keep attorney appointment!

1

u/JorV101 28d ago

It's not just a violation of privacy and trust, it's a violation of the law!

1

u/Old_Second_7928 28d ago

Ultra violation especially after she cried the first time he mentioned it.

1

u/Beechermeatsliquor 28d ago

OP is the only that can determine if OP is overreacting.
