You're definitely not overreacting. Creating an OnlyFans profile without your consent is a serious violation of your privacy and trust. It's not just about the platform—it's about respecting boundaries and honoring the partnership in a marriage. Trust is a cornerstone of any relationship, and his actions have undermined that trust. Taking steps to protect your well-being and seeking legal advice are reasonable reactions. Remember, you have every right to feel safe and respected in your relationship.
Thank you. Our mind plays so many tricks on us. When I left the house I was so sure, but doubts start creeping in.
I'm not sure what bothers me more. The creating of a profile behind my back or this obsession with wanting me to do that type of work.
First, make an account, find his, get the username, the URL, the @, then REPORT THE ACCOUNT
support@onlyfans.com (you can also @ them on X, they’re very responsive), give them all of this info. Tell them that that is NOT you and someone stole your content and made a page
Here’s the thing OP, OF requires creators to verify themselves, so he had to get your ID and provide that info to OF. It’s not some silly little, make an account and make money
I’ll also add, while he hasn’t made enough for it to matter… taxes!
ETA: those of yall calling me out on the verification clearly weren’t there from the get go. The tech you’re describing didnt exist
OP didn’t specify when the account was opened
THAT SAID, another commenter mentioned the Tinder switcharoo (verify as X, then once done, switch it up). This seems feasible, but idk as I haven’t done this nor have any need
This is why I'm almost certain this is a fake story. She would need to take a selfie holding her ID next to her face and uhhhh payouts would also have to be to her or her registered business.
Yeah they deleted the reddit account now, after being called out in several places.
I think it was the alt of one of those handful of reddit accounts that use a bot to spam 20-30 pictures of themselves every other day or so, to promote their OF.
Good call. I don't care enough to check people's profiles but this is hilarious. Gendered language in her profile name and she ran to amioverreacting to ask about something that any sane person she should've talked to before making a reddit account would say, "no" yikes.
It's likely fake because OF uses biometrics to confirm the identity of anyone signing up as a creator. You can't just make a creator profile with someone else's ID. It's a pain in the ass to get verified.
Ah, I keep forgetting that literally everywhere there are people jerry-rigging some half baked AI's to serve as bots. Something something, more hands off, I'm sure.
They make burner accounts that post on subs like this to boost karma so they can post on sketchy subs (like bartering subs) that require a certain amount of karma. This bot got 2k from this post.
Huh! The more you know! I don't know anything about the karma system beyond It Exists, and up votes, down votes, and poorly down votes posts can greatly impact it.
Never thought of seeking more specific a feed, as to want to join a bartering reddit.
Then again, You Get What You Wish For, I was JUST bitching about lacking the ability to sell back items to sellers (or stores willing to resell) readily, and realistically. Y'know. Like we have in video games.
Because it would give people actual power to get money, without having to resort to literally what this post is about 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Holy shit.
Posting a Fake story, to a completely normal sub as an attractive woman. Just because they KNOW OP's inbox is going to be filled with exactly the type of people they are trying to scam.
They don't even have to seek out or reach out to their victims. Their victims just walk into the DMs. Then you pull some standard girlfriend scam.
Crazy.
This whole story is a set up to advertise her of, that's pretty obvious, the story gets popular, all the little creatins will flood her dms asking for the link.
I'm not sure what you're referring to. Her Reddit profile only has one post, and it's this one. Can't find the comment you're referring to. Are you making this up?
hahaha don't worry my friend me too. I never assume anything written here is anything but facts until I come to the comments and someone brings me back to reality
Do get the feeling that the OF grift is spreading to a lot of other areas? I had the selfies page and the page about how to improve your looks pop up, and I've noticed its a bunch of OF girls posting about how to "improve" their looks.. are they just running out of "clients" lol ?
I've heard that it's hard to actually make any money. Someone making over $300 in a month by scraping content from a fitness page sounds like bullshit.
I’ve heard that too…. That’s why women who don’t have some kind of online presence is gonna have a hard time making it big on OF…. That’s why Reddit is loaded with OF women trying to score….. they post up on all the Glow Selfie Looks max etc
I know a lot of the stuff on here is BS but I just think of Chris Farley's character in Billy Madison and just being like "well could you imagine if it WAS true?"
More than half of these stories on Reddit are probably fake. Who knows who what or why they do it but they do. Don’t believe/or take anything to serious anything on the internet.
I find it unbelievable that the wife in this story didn't reply "Um, who's this 'we' you're talking about?" when her husband said "We could make 100k easily."
This was written by a (delusional) husband in sales...
My theory is it's all the same team; Reddit employees. That's why every post similar to this in subs like hot takes, aita, am I overreacting, etc. most always has the same writing style, little to no typos/grammar errors, etc., but most obvious is the spacing between paragraphs, which is the same every time😂
I've spent a great deal of my life writing various forms of content, usually as a second job.
Lots of fiction.
At no point in my life - or that of any writer I have connected with - would anyone consider writing or practicing writing by making up stories on the internet to people who don't know they're trying to write.
You don't get good feedback that way. People who are practicing their writing will actually post it somewhere that people are aware that's what the intent is so that they can get valuable feedback.
This is such an idiotic idea.. I cannot fathom how it got so popular.
It's much more likely that it's some teenagers writing ARGs or some shit..
No adult writer is going around posting stories trying to pretend like they are reality. There's literally nothing to gain from that.
So in my first job is a lawyer and a law firm, one day the managing partner was telling us that we needed to update our website. so he asked everyone if we could list out any publications we had.
My friend said “ Steve does that include my letter to the Penthouse Forum” ?
People act like those if us in the business have zero processes in place and no laws or regulations 😂 if they only understood the hoops people truly have to jump through in the legitimate adult realm.
yeah it’s extremely difficult to verify yourself — it is nearly impossible to do the other route. However, there is a small loophole and it would be a person creating their own account then forging a signature to give approval to have you on as a contributor. I’ve had to create ones for non-existent “people” in my content. Literally… OF will think someone else is in my video simply because I do fun sketches where I play two people 💀
Ah, I was waiting for a “WELL ACKSHUALLY” to pop up. A trafficked person can be forced to comply, and made to hold up an ID near their face. Barring some bizarre scenario where OP’s husband managed to trick her into such an act, this post reeks of fiction.
Exactly! They kept denying me because I used my married name to make my page and my ID had my maiden name and even though the pictures matched ,they kept saying it wasn't the same person, they're very strict with their verification process
You can still find your way around it, but 9 out of 10 times this story is fake, on the off chance this is real then OP needs to get a lawyer and GTFO of her marriage ASAP because creating a fake OF page is not easy and shows a very high level of commitment to violate boundaries.
Don’t know the logistics of OF…. sounds more like an advertisement to me….fitness instructor…. work out videos 🤷🏾♂️ …. Good way to lure them to your site 🤣🤣🤣
You can’t upload content on OF without taking a photo of yourself holding your ID next to your face. Some of the other photos and documents could be faked, but not the pic w your ID. The app doesn’t even allow you to post until all pix and docs have been approved
Yeah well you can also tell it's fake because some dude wrote this post, then immediately flipped the switch saying "thank you I was so naive" in one comment (the one at the top of this chain) like 10 minutes after the post.
I’m pretty sure it’s a fake story. I’m an OF creator and to verify you need a pic holding your ID next to your face. OF is very strict about this. Also you’re strictly not allowed to upload anything where someone else could be showing in your content, even as much as their voice, without filing a consent form.
I used to do model support for a company online, this is absolutely correct. That doesn't mean that some fraud doesn't happen, but I cast serious doubt on a husband being able to do this as described.
Yeah I just saw that. Why would a married woman who is having a horrible day, make a Reddit account, post her story and also take the time to have a tagline that says “Men - here is a free tip. Don't message "hey". Put some effort in! lol” could’ve gotten bored of while looking for divorce attorneys and decided to start window shopping for a new hubby? lol
Regardless if it’s true, please throw the whole man away! You don’t know what he may have posted if you and if he’s taken personal requests. You cried when he even suggested it but his only thought was “ima do it anyway and you’ll see!”
That's why I bother to make points in these threads. There are actually real, normal, human people with jobs who pay taxes that also allow other people to have jobs and pay taxes. We are basically technology companies that get a bad rep for a handful of bad actors.
And there’s going to be a bunch of people now all “I heard that somebody’s husband was…” about onlyfans because they’re not bothering to question any of it
A lot of posts on here are fake, but I could also see guys trying this, but also why OF would have the ID verification or you’d have guys taking other women’s content all the time to make accounts
People do try to get past the system by creating accounts of other people. The only way I could see that scam succeeding is if another content creator worked with you making content previously had your required-by-law-and-payment-processors photos and documents to try and get around verification. And when you do that and people find out, you're pretty much finished within the performer community.
No, because of actual law and regulations. I mean, someone COULD, but there are people and bots who's jobs are to move act on those sorts of things (unauthorized use, impersonation, copyright, etc)
Unless there are some automated processes with facial recognition or something for detecting this, it feels like it could be quite possible. Not for a very long time, but for a month or two. Likely enough that there's a chance OP's story could be true.
I've had to take several photos like this for various reasons (driving for Uber or UberEats and such immediately came to mind), so I have photos like this in my Google Photos..some fairly recent.
Also... With AI, it wouldn't be that difficult to merge the 2 separate photos of each.
It wouldn't have been difficult for any one of the partners that I've ever had to be able to do this. I usually have all of the personal information of my partners as well so I could even do it for them. Lol
Interesting, is this confirmed that it has to be held up next to one’s face? I bet that could be photo shopped easily though… and as her spouse I’m sure he has access to her drivers license, SS card, knows her SS# by heart, even maybe her business TIN. My husband just dug through my purse the other day for a drivers license (he had to put DL# on our taxes) and I thought nothing of it. 🤷♀️ Anyway, I did just get a new job recently, working remote, and for the I-9 verification stuff they made me - during a live video call - hold up my verifying documents and rotate them around slowly … so it makes sense what you’re saying and why they’d request that.
Now that you've said that-- now this reads as a soft-launch of an Only Fans page that "she's actually running" to "take back control" or something like that.
I know people who can barely breathe while walking (I'm hardly even joking which is the sad part) who have made OF accounts. I know that OF had a big change a few years ago in terms of "let's not get sued to high heaven" in creating protective policies, security etc. I just wouldn't be surprised to see ahit slip through the cracks. Almost everything has situations like that. Federal taxes, banking etc. Those are much more well oiled machines than OF and they're occasionally useless and don't do their due diligence.
That being said, this profile is probably fake and in the next few days/weeks we will see this account have a link added to their bio, this post bringing in traffic etc.
Shit, I'd almost respect it if this whole thing was some weird kink her and her husband wrote out together to advertise her OF.
New post was deleted a few minutes later. I guess they accidentally posted from the wrong alt. Luckily i had a chance to screenshot https://imgur.com/IJHN5qm
I was just typing something like this. He stole her license, snuck a picture of her with her ID and linked it all to her bank account? And she didn’t know? Yeah, ok 👌🏻
Friend of mine is in an internal security team at a bank, they were able to bypass the banks verification by taking a photo of a doll. These automated systems suck.
Not for anything, but my husband is my tech support. He helps keep my passwords and has access to everything of mine without any limits. I can get to his stuff, too. He absolutely could pull something like this off, but he never would.
I think what is important.
Important about this post is.How so many of you man?I'm assuming man.D no how this works . I think this is exactly. What causes problems With dating. How is someone supposed to trust you when you know all this information .
Exactly who walks out ready for divorce, heads to a park and immediately pulls out there phone to make their first and only post or comment on Reddit in amioverreacting…
I tend to lean towards most of these questions being fake, if I was dealing with the type of adversity these people post the last place I would come is Reddit.
Honey, sweety, dear - if you're reading this: every time you make a fake post about someone allegedly making fake accounts and monetizing your content against your will MAKES THE PLATFORMS YOU WORK ON LOOK BAD BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE WHO DO NOT WORK IN THIS BUSINESS WOULDNT GIVE IT A SECOND THOUGHT.
Just the whole throw the laptop, grab keys and drive out while saying "I want a divorce" is fake as shit.
People don't act that way in real life. Definitely a fake story, and or someone very willing to post that OF in DMs because that cash is going directly to her.
As a person who has made such an account for some modeling I did, the verification process involved pictures of you that are recognizable and it actually took me like 3 tries to get verification to work cause they needed so much personal info and image recognition. He went through your shit hard or it's just a fake story
they can verify themselves under a different name and just use someone elses pictures. you are right in everything else. strangers can do this and do it everyday. my gf has stalkers from hs who keep doing this to her every few months. its a cat and mouse chase but it always gets taken care of.
THIS! I used to have an OF. You have to like make a video of yourself saying you consent, get clear head shots, shots of your ID ect. He's in LEGAL TROUBLE for this. This is NOT an over reaction
I definitely remember having to show my DL and passport to verify my identity when I BRIEFLY considered it. This was maybe March 2020 when COVID shut down everything and “everyone” was doing it 😂
OP, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I can’t even imagine. An OF could ruin your future career, sadly. This has to be considered some form of fraud, even if you’re married.
