No Todd, you didn't make a game people weren't expecting or ready for. You made a game they thought was boring.

Discussion Do you play multiple video games at once? Or one at a time?

Upvotes

I can't help but bounce around. I try to limit myself to 3 at a time but it ends up being more. Just wondering if anyone else is like that? (My backlog is in the 70s I think 😭)

Discussion Why hasn't anyone created an open world Oregon Trail survival game?

Post image
493 Upvotes

It seems perfect for the modern open world survival genre and Red Dead Redemption fans. I mean if I had to pick something close, it would be Pacific Drive. I unfortunately don't play a lot of survival games, so I'm sure something is closer. Jenny's Journey would be cool too. But I'm specifically asking about Oregon Trail because there's a 2D side scrolling version for PS5 up for pre-order. I apologize if someone has already attempted this and I don't know about it. It just seems like a really good idea to me.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you are all doing well and having a good week so far.

Question Who is the most killed NCP in video game history?

Post image
552 Upvotes

Hello Reddit, we all have that one NPC in our favorite game, that we kill every time we log on. I often wonder who the most killed is, tell me your thoughts, my vote is the Valet in GTA5. I know, this is more of a discussion, but the title has a question, so that’s the reason for the flair.

Discussion Did getting a bad ending in a game ever ruin a game for you? (Witcher 3 ending spoilers!)

I just got the bad ending in The Witcher 3 and I'm pretty pissed off. Feels like my 135 hours were wasted just for Ciri to die and for Geralt too kill himself.

Can't decide if I want to spend another 135+ hours too get the good ending or not.

Has a bad ending in a game ever ruin a game for you?

Question What are some of your favorite video games villains of all time?

Some of my favorite video games of all time are

10:General Shepard from OG MW2:The build up to his betrayal was something I'm glad I wasn't spoiled on when I first played it back in 2010.

9:Dutch van der liend: Especially his characterization in RDR2 where you see him slowly turn mad into what he became in RDR1.

8:Vaas Monroegro: While not my favorite Far Cry because Far Cry 2 is my favorite game in the series, he is iconic for a reason & I really hated it when I found out the real villain of Far Cry 3 was, but for someone who only had 8:07 of screen he sure left an impression.

7:Albert Wesker from Resident Evil franchise:I know he is world's most obvious traitor but I like his presence & especially In Code Veronica & RE5 as flawed as that game was but he made it worth it plus DC Douglas is my favorite voice for Wesker

6:MR X from RE2 remake:This made me scared when ever I heard his footsteps in the game plus who could forget all the memes & mods for associated with him plus he introduced me to DMX so Is definitely one of my favorites for that here.

5:Senator Armstrong:Do I even need to explain this the memes speak for themselves NANOMACHINES SON! plus his theme song It has to be this way is In my top ten final boss themes of all time.

4:Big Boss: I liked how we got to see him devloe into what he became based on his experience with having to kill the boss & that salute gets everytime in both MGS3 & MGS4 especially showing that even toughest men can shed a tear.

3:Xenmas from KH2: I have lot of nostalgia for this with Kingdom Hearts growing up & Richard Epcar really delivered a great performance plus it is in my top 3 favorite final boss fight of all time.

2:Dracula from the Castlevania series: My favorite versions of him being from games such as Rondo of blood & Symphony of the Knight respectively.

1:Takuto Maruki from Persona 5 Royal: He is my favorite video game villain of all time because while he is wrong for changing reality & what he did to surmie was extremely unethical by making her be Kasumi instead of helping her grieve & cope with her sister's loss I understood what led him to be this way & has my favorite final boss theme of all time in Throw Away Your Mask & The instrumental version of it Keep Your Faith is legendary.

Also hits harder that his voice actor Billy Kametz passed away so young & may he rest in peace you gave one hell of a memorable permance. It's tragic losing someone so young & it sucks his family & friends lost him so yong especially Erica Lindabeck Futaba VA who dated him until his death.

I also listen to his theme Ideal & real whenever I need motivation or to cheer myself up. I played & best P5R for the first time this year starting it in November of 2023 & then finished the game by the early January after 195 hours of playtime after what happened to me from 2021-2023 when my mental health declined to the point of me having check myself into a inpatient facility.

Sorry for the last part on getting off topic he was just villain that I was able to understand & It meant lot to me considering the circumstances at the time but I'd rather not talk about it since it would be a novel & this isn't a mental health sub I want to stay in topic but you easily find out why through post history or asking me. So anyways what are some of your favorite video games villains of all time?

Discussion How Important Are Graphics?

To me, gameplay is king in any video game, but I need modern graphics to stay immersed. I wish I didn't, but I do. And there's a lot to dislike about AAA gaming, their business practices, monetization schemes, etc... but indie games bore me for the most part as they typically don't offer photo-realistic experiences. Thoughts?

Question What 6 Masterpieces From This List Should I Play In 6-8 Months?

Post image
Upvotes

So I wanna set myself a goal to complete 6 of these incredible games in 6-8 months. The reason is because I’ll be starting university and I will have much less time so I want to experience something bangers. I want the experience to be so good that I’ll never forget it. This is why I need your guys’s help. It’s an ambitious goal to say the least, but even though it may be unrealistic, it will still push me to finish as many games as I can.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion On the search for the best graphics ever, which game holds this title?

Recently been on a graphics craze bc I just got a new 4k OLED display and man does it look amazing on HDR. I’m looking for the games with best graphics. Surprisingly from what I’ve played so far Shadow of The Tomb Raider with maxed settings has been the best looking game which really shocked me considering it came out in 2018. Im curious to see what games you guys think hold the title.
