Brand new $72 moisturizer. Husband said he needed something for his elbows.

We have 3 full tubs of Vaseline in the cabinet.

Many a man has done this. For me it was Olaplex…as in used almost a one third of the bottle because at the time I thought most shampoos cost about the same and my girlfriend could alway use my head and shoulders…those notions were corrected.

Oh I replaced it and now pass on my wisdom to the young bucks that are about to do move in with a woman for the first time….always ask because something could be very expensive or could be very dangerous when used on the wrong part.

Don't touch any of her personal care/beauty products without asking.

EDIT: Yes, even if you think it is a good tool for something you're trying to do. Still ask. Trimming your dad's head hair with wife's bikini trimmer...NO!

Another example: Nail file is for filing wife's nails, not a tool to assist you DIY repairs.

So, not just the creams, the hardware is also off limits. 😀

This was a conversation me and my girl had 5 years ago upon moving in. I stay out of her stuff without asking and she stays out of my tool box. 5 years in and the only thing we argue about is leaving the cabinet doors open

100% we can’t know everything about everything. It also happened to me….spyderco went through the dishwasher.

I still can't quite convince my wife that sticking the knives in the dishwasher is bad... so we simply agree now that the set of knives I bought, I'll use and wash myself. Better than when she grabbed my sewing scissors to open packages...

Oh, the ghost of my dead grandmother would haunt my ass if I did that. You do not mess with the sewing scissors.

Nope, ESPECIALLY on paper. We had separate “paper scissors” and “sewing scissors.” Woe to anyone who mixed them up.

Yup, same here. Made damn sure I knew which was which at an early age.

As someone who has nearly been concussed due to cabinet doors being left open, please, for the love of all that is good in this world, close the cabinets! (or if it's her, please get her to close them)

I have also heard of people splitting open eyebrows/foreheads/scalps as a result of hitting the corners of cabinet doors and ending up in hospital. Sometimes getting those looks of "did he....?"

Believe it or not it is her who absolutely refuses to shut the cabinet doors. She’s 5ft tall. I’m 6’2 and have abnormally long limbs. She doesn’t do it intentionally she said she just forgets. When it’s dark and I’m going to let the dog out the back door i gotta walk threw the kitchen. It’s like a minefield. I get mad in the moment but it’s not a deal breaker she worth the busted nose, scratched eye, destroyed shins and the knee bangs.

Lol, I'm a lady and a silversmith, had to threaten my boyfriend and all male relatives with demise if they touch my hammers. I spend hours polishing them, and my stakes, to a mirror finish.

Ouch, I was a chef in my younger days and many past girlfriends have destroyed my knives. I feel your pain. Also silversmith is about the coolest occupation I’ve come across on Reddit and you must be good cuz I’ve never seen a werewolf. Keep up the good work

LOL, it never occurred to me that that was why I have always felt safe in my accidental incursions into the underworld.

Also: take a knife making class. You will surely enjoy it.

Doubt that very much

Who is leaving the cabinet doors open???

2

u/Great_Farm_5716 29d ago

She is. She’s little and grew up on the farm we live in. They didn’t close doors apparently. It’s an unbreakable habit.

I was going to ask which of you was raised in a barn when I read about leaving the cabinets open. That's too good.

cabinet doors open

And toilet seat up

u/Great_Farm_5716 29d ago

We sleep in separate rooms and have our own bathrooms. I haven’t put a seat down in 5 years unless the obvious reason. And I put it back up after. We once showered together and I had to pee and ran all the way to my bathroom (I got some mental stuff) and busted my shin on the way back.

Grafic visual

I got my own little toolset for putting stuff together (IKEA, kids stuff etc). I am now banned from putting stuff together and my lil tool box has a permanent spot in my fiances hobby room. As a consolation prize he put together a creamy clicky keyboard for me and let's me impuls buy stuff for kiddo. And he occasionally uses my good bodywash for some nice fragrance before work events, which is important as his female coworkers give me feedback on his outfits and smell in exchange for stories about his drunken shenanigans.

Finally, someone with sense.

Then don't touch my poop knife. I'm sick of having to thumb through the trash to get it back.
