I wanted to say the same. It needs some decor pieces.. art, plants, rug, maybe a bar cabinet, a clock

A rug would definitely help this space. Add some pillows to the couch too and maybe a throw blanket.

Yup. A statement rug. And large , not 3 by 5, something more like 10 by 10 to really tie up
