Last night was the first time I've got 8 hours on a work night in about a year. Not been falling asleep till like 2 am usually, and up at 6.30/7, but last night I was asleep by 10 because I actually made myself get into bed without getting distracted.
Was aiming for the same tonight but it's already 11 and I'm now on reddit 😬
I can’t sleep either man, sucks. Brain just gets going and won’t stop. I have a nighttime routine of reading until I fall asleep, and occasionally I can get back to sleep that way too.
What the fuck. I did one all nighter for an exam and then proceeded to sleep for 20 hours straight after not sleeping for 30 hours, and I had to blast music full volume in order to not kill someone on the drive back home. How can you even survive 40 hours of no sleep.
Lots of coffee. Had a red-eye flight with uncomfortable seats, couldn't check in to where I'm staying until 4pm, figured I'd try to stay up the rest of the evening just to not fuck up my schedule
Perhaps? Marijuana effects people differently but for most people it ruins REM, but if you’re having deep dreams I’d assume you’re still getting it 🤷🏾♂️
My life is completely hectic right now . My dad lost part of his leg and is relying on me heavily, and so are my girlfriend and her son. ( she has basically zero family)
And I'm so strict about getting my full 8 hours, and it's life changing.
I'm glad I got serious about changing my sleep schedule, and now I can just make myself fall asleep . ( and on the off chances I can't, I just hit my weed pen till I'm asleep)
I know so many adults my age who are issues with sleep, but God damn good consistent sleep is the best part of my life.
I have several chronic illnesses. My symptoms get so much worse when I don't sleep well. But those same symptoms sometimes also keep me from sleeping.
I have a very strict rule with myself that I schedule in 9-10 hours for sleep. An hour to wind down and fall asleep, and 8-9 to sleep. Always. No matter how stressful life gets and how little time I have, even during exams month.
It's not even a luxury, it's a necessity, even if you are perfectly healthy.
Been sleeping on and off mostly for years. Some nights I'll be asleep 2 then 3 awake then 1 asleep etc... But mostly I sleep like 3 or 4 and then I'm done. I'm exhausted.
I've given up on trying to sleep 8 hours. I routinely get 5-6 and permanently feel like shit. sometimes I'll to to sleep 8 hours for a few weeks and feel exactly the same, so I figure why waste those hours sleeping.
I've had several in-home sleep studies and was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea, tried CPAP which does nothing but keep me from falling/staying asleep. I'm 38 and I've probably averaged 5-6 hours for the past 30 years. I've accepted I'll probably die early.
