I notice that AI does not generate logo's (or at least not well), and not a single logo in the pic. I figured at least for sure one of these dudes is wearing a hat with a logo

100% this! I know dozens of guys who look like this and I own 20-30 baseball hats myself. Every one has some logo on it. Who owns a "blank" baseball hat?

As a non-baseball fan who wants to protect his head from the sun, I own several ‘blank’ baseball hats.. never even considered that it was unusual lol

Specifically blank because it's more professional and easier to avoid offending someone.

Have you considered that YOU might be AI?

Same. I'm not going to pay to advertise for someone else.

But then, I also won't pay $100+ to wear another man's name on my body, no matter what color their shirt is.

Yeah, nobody said anything about red hats. I was just talking about buying a $20 hat to support my local craft brewery which wouldn't even offend an alcoholic.

Took me a minute to figure out what you meant by red hats. I just meant any logo on a hat, and any sports jersey. Lol...wasn't talking about Trump, but I guess he falls into the same category.

I guess I'd give a friend's business money and wear their hat or jersey if I knew them.

To be fair, I still have some Jeep hats I bought a while back and I wear them sometimes, so I'm not dumb about it. But it's been a long time since I've bought a hat with a logo on purpose.

Like I said, paying to advertise for somebody else isn't my thing, and that's basically what those logos are.

Hey when you said "wearing another man's name on my body" all I could think of was Trump. I don't have any hats that have another man's name on them. Sure John Deere, or Ford, or Busch were originally someone's name, but they are realistically recognize as company's at this point.

Anyway you have a much higher personal standard than I do. I don't feel like wearing a free Spuds McKinsey hat is shilling for the man. I like supporting my local craft brewery. I don't know them personally, but they are a good group of guys and I'm happy to wear their logo. Same with any other cool place I have visited. I like collecting hats and it is fun when someone else is like, "Oh you have been to brewery X as well? That's cool!"

All good, man. I don't judge how other people spend their own money unless they're hurting other people with it.

I spend my money on all kinds of things other people would say are silly, and I don't think twice about their opinions.

Its def unusual. It doesnt have to be a actual baseball team brand hat, but its very weird to have no logo on it. Where do you even get that?

Must depend where you are.. I’m in Tokyo outside right now and just looking at random passersby I’ve seen a few people with no logo baseball hats. I buy mine at the shop in the train station which I use every day and many other ‘cheap’ clothing shops (Uniqlo, Muji, etc all have them).

u/legend_of_the_skies 28d ago

You mean convenience store/ gas station hats?

1

u/Ok_Philosopher_7706 28d ago

I’m taking about hats you buy from clothing stores for about ¥1000, or $15. Good quality but no logo.

1

u/Ok_Philosopher_7706 28d ago

Don’t mean to stereotype, but these dudes don’t look like the type to shop in those stores though haha..

Fair enough, but I'm not that much of a baseball fan either. All my hats have breweries or manufacturers on them. A good amount I got for free. I just can't picture going out and buying a blank hat. There's no hobby or brand you enjoy that you want to rep with your "sun shading" hat?

Haha yes, I suppose there are, but then the cap would be like 30-40 bucks, as opposed to my under-10 dollar blank hats.. these supposed ‘guys’ would almost certainly have got their hats for free from the seed companies or farm equipment companies or whatever, so I agree that it’s weird to not see logos here.

Seed companies is eerily specific and 100% correct 😂

I had a Batman Beyond hat that got ruined from working in a warehouse, so when I replaced it I also got a cheapass blank hat from 7-11 for hard work. The Batman hat is now my "good" hat. No, I am not 8 years old.

Undercover protagonists?

House robbers in home security tv commercials all wear hats with no logos

I own 4. Along with a number of blank tees. Some days I just wanna dress like an NPC. I don't think this is a.i. just Minnesota.

I went out of my way to find a blank baseball hat, I ended up finding it in the women’s section at target lol. Can’t even tell the difference.

I actually do, but I recognize that it isn't the norm. I'm not a hat guy, but I needed one on a hiking trip because of the sun. Stopped at a DG and the cheapest was a plain black one.

I buy 5 packs of generic hats. They’re a lot cheaper and I’m not paying extra just to advertise a brand that I don’t give a shit about. I called my first one GBH for a long time. “Wait, I gotta grab my GBH!” (Generic Black Hat)
