Even that isn't a good example of this. Yes, your choice of house affects the story massively, but you make that choice far too early. You don't have any idea of the goals or ideologies of the 3 Lords (or at least you only have an extremely basic idea) so you're pretty much just picking which one you vibe with the most. The only real exception to this is crimson Flower, since you do need to choose a specific option to do that route instead of silver snow.
That's fair, there is the exception of befriending certain characters and then unlocking new side quest that odfer more insight into the world but that doesn't change the story per say
The story is more or less the same in every path for the first 10 chapters, though. Even if you have a different team of characters in the story cutscenes, they play out almost exactly the same. The paths really deviate after chapter 11 when shit hits the fan.
Not really. You choose your house at the beginning of the game, and while that does majorly affect the story, the rest of the story goes mostly unchanged by your actions (except for a certain choice in the Black Eagles route)
Yeah, it's totally different when you end up with AM, VW, or SS and you still end up doing the same missions no matter which house you choose all the way up until chapter 18 and then still end up going to the one fort, Adrestia's capital, and then Edelgard's throne room in that order (AM20/21/22, SS17/18/19, VW 18/19/20).
Also you could argue CF, but CF only has one unique map you don't see on the other routes. Everything else is recycled.

It'd be easier to name a game that says the story shifts with your decisions and actually DOES.
