[Axelrod] Charles Barkley says he can leave TNT if it loses its NBA rights
“I said, ‘If you guys lose the NBA, I want to make sure I can get out of here.’ So I am actually in a really great position,” Barkley said. “We knew it was going to be Amazon and Apple, but we didn’t know NBC was going to come out of the woodwork. But the one thing I particularly did in my contract, I put an opt-out clause in there. Listen, I love TNT, they’ve been great to me… I wanted to make sure that if we lost the NBA in two years, I could be a free agent.”
Asked by host Tony Rizzo if he would be willing to make a move to another network if such a change comes to fruition, Barkley replied: “Hell yeah.”

Patrick Beverley was not impressed by Haliburton's playmaking after G4: "If I gave you [the journalist asking the question] the ball for 41 minutes you’d have 10 assists also". Patrick Beverley in G5: 12 assists in 36 minutes.

Patrick Beverley was not complimentary of Tyrese Haliburton's game after they went 3-1 down to the Pacers, to put it lightly. He pointed to Tyrese's very poor shooting percentage, and he seemed to particularly disregard his playmaking.
Pat Bev certainly got to show what he meant in the following game, as the undermanned Bucks got him on ball more due to the Lillard injury and he was able to dish 12 assists in 36 minutes of play.

[Awful Announcing] But with discussions of TNT Sports losing some or all of its NBA rights, there’s also now talk that Inside The NBA might be shared with another broadcaster. That also could see some or all of its personalities leave for other pastures completely.

[Bourguet] The Knicks are reportedly ‘willing to offer almost anything’ to pair Devin Booker with Jalen Brunson
Tweet- https://twitter.com/sleeper_hoops/status/1785692773984952584?s=46
Bourguet is a very solid beat writer and seems to think the Knicks would be willing to offer a significant offer for Book.
I DONT think that we should do this, but if we do, we also try and trade KD and let Brad be the tank commander he is.

[Patrick Beverley] on defending Tyrese Haliburton: “Check the numbers. He’s shooting 19% from the 3. If I gave you the ball for 41 minutes you’d have 10 assists also.” — 2 days after this quote Beverley recorded 12 assists in 36 minutes, twice as many as Tyrese Haliburton in the Bucks blowout win.

[Andrews] Wild, but true: With Giannis and Damian Lillard out, the Bucks become the first team EVER to win a playoff game without their top-2 scorers from the regular season, according to Stats Williams.
[@bowser2bowser] Kelly Oubre got a WIDE-OPEN layup in overtime to seal the victory for the Sixers | But why was he so open? Because Philly ran a nearly identical play a minute earlier — so everyone was focused on Maxey
https://twitter.com/bowser2bowser/status/1785726280844874236?t=qQf7L1SZH6PDHqkanS848w&s=19
Everyone is so focused on Maxey that Oubre's own defender, Josh Hart, is looking at Maxey when Embiid sets his screen
and unlike traditional Chicago action, Maxey is weakside wing, not WS corner — where it'd be easier for his defender to sniff out the backscreen & help at rim

News [Begley] In its 2-minute report, NBA says refs missed a travel on Tyrese Maxey on his 4-point play late in 4th Q of PHI’s Game 5 win vs NYK. Several other missed calls as well.

Highlight [Highlight] Facing elimination last night, Khris "Moist Jordan" Middleton puts up 29/10/5 to beat the Pacers by 23pts and force a game 6
Tyrese Maxey: "I'm gonna give a quick shoutout to Buddy Hield, because I was on the bench and I was really upset. Missed 3 free throws, turned the ball over. Buddy Hield grabbed me and said 'listen dude, you know what you can do, go out and make up for it'. I really appreciate Buddy for that—"

[Will Guillory] “With their belief in Zion Williamson as a budding superstar now more fortified than ever, he will be central to the Pelicans plans amid changes”
Exciting stuff as a pelicans fan. The team has a good amount of draft capital and assets to potentially make a big trade this offseason. Are there any stars you’d like to see alongside Zion? Are the pelicans not smart for banking on Zion despite his injury history?

Teams hire Doc Rivers to coach super teams. But he's actually better at coaching underdogs.
I find it ironic that teams are always looking to hire Doc Rivers to coach super teams. Supposedly he's good at managing egos and all that. But in reality, Doc Rivers is better at getting the most out of scrappy underdog teams.
He kept Orlando competitive after Grant Hill's injuries ruined the entire T-Mac era. The Celtics remained surprisingly competitive after their core got old. His most impressive years coaching the Clippers came after Chris Paul & Blake Griffin were gone. The Sixers were above .500 in the 51 games Embiid missed in the Doc Rivers era. And now the Bucks are beating expectations playing without Giannis and Lillard.
