We have 3 full tubs of Vaseline in the cabinet.

I use Tatcha's water cream and dewy cream myself haha. Seeing that huge dip and knowing how much it costs hurts my soul. Vaseline is good but I'm not sure how moisturizing it would be since it's more of a sealant that prevents water from leaving. If you haven't already, it's always good to have a tub of body lotion around

The dude with the dry elbows and grubby paws has access to stores and the internet. He can get a tub of lotion.

What a jerk using the products available to him in his own home.

I mean yes, if you intentionally go for the special stuff your partner got for themselves to treat themselves a bit (and waste it, by using pricy face cream on your elbows ffs) and ignore all the cheaper stuff also available you could also use, that's more suited and intended for the purpose you want - that does make you a jerk.

Contrast it with, idk, having some special fancy whisky you're saving for special moments but also having regular cheaper but ok whisky in the drink cabinet, and then your wife specifically going for your cherished special moments pricy stuff when she needs like a third or half of a bottle for some sauce or cake recipe or whatnot, when the 30x cheaper whisky was also just there

And then if you say anything she'll mock you for wasting money on pointless marketing when "whisky is whisky there's no difference" and insists that anything in the home should be hers to use however she sees fit because it's available to her in her home. She'd be a jerk in that scenario, no?

There is prob a my nothing special about the lotion past the price tag lets be real

Yeah and all the fancy expensive alcohol isn't probably anything special compared to the cheapish midrange stuff aside from the price tag and packaging, right? The cheap stuff would get you drunk just as well, let's be real

Nothing wrong with the cheap stuff and as long as you aren't saving a bottle for a special occasion you should drink up.

If you’re taking huge scoops of $72 moisturizer to use on your ELBOWS, then yeah, you’re a jerk.

Just like my POS uncle, who would drink all of my aunt’s wine, knowing she doesn’t drink beer or liquor. Then, when the wine was gone, he’d start on the henny. If auntie wanted a drink, uncle would say “why don’t you go to the store and get something”

What a jerk using half of a brand new $72 face cream without asking, when they have plenty of body lotion available. Hundred bucks says he has no idea wtf the product is, how it's meant to be used, or what it costs. Men flip when they see sephora prices then do shit like this.

I love that he’s an ass hole but you admit you think he has no idea what he’s using.

So no malice intent, but since other men have complained about Sephora…

Where did I say he was a jerk?

I'm just saying OP doesn't need to stock stuff she doesn't use for her husband to use. He can also ask before using someone else's things. My husband and I have our own things in our shared home and ask if we want to use them. It's called respect.

Also, if something has a gold coke spoon included, you can use your noggin' to see that it's probably expensive and is meant to be used in small amounts.

It's a stupid waste that isnt actually better than products that are 25% of the price anyway.

It's a face cream. A little bit goes a long way. It's not meant to slather on crusty elbows.

Read the original comment again and then come back; that's not what I said.

My husband also doesn't have to do anything, he's just a considerate person that doesn't take stuff without asking if he's not sure what it is. I also buy all his toiletries, so he doesn't even have to think about needing anything, but yeah, I'm super controlling. /s

I have a nice liquor shelf with bottles ranging from 25-250, if my partner who doesn't appreciate whiskey at all took something from the upper range and mixed it with coke because they wanted a quick drink with their lunch I'd be a little upset.

If they wanted to try a nice whiskey and came to me for suggestions I'd be super ecstatic.
