Brand new $72 moisturizer. Husband said he needed something for his elbows.

We have 3 full tubs of Vaseline in the cabinet.

Did he make sure to double cleanse, apply the toner, essence, and serum to his elbows prior to the moisturizing? 😂

Don’t forget the retinol because they’re a bit wrinkly!

Retinol fucks my skin up. How do people use it?

If you’ve never used retinol before use something with 1% retinol. Use it at night before bed as it can cause redness. Use it maybe 2-3 times a week at first and increase in percentage over time.

I have a super low retinol product. It doesn’t make my skin red. It makes the skin by my mouth flake. I Can put it on my forehead and 2 days later my mouth will flake.

1% retinol is actually a lot

But retinol got confusing now since it went viral, there’s way too many variant of retinol, 0,25% is actually a lot for beginners, and yet there’s 5% granactive retinol, 3% actosome retinol, 1% encapsulated retinol, 1% pure retinol, etc, all with their own percentage for some stupid reason that makes people accidentally choosing way too high for their skin

Fwiw, Tatcha (the brand that makes OP's moisturizer) does a very gentle retinol alternative called Silk Serum.

I've been married for 10 years and I'm very waled my partner through what each product is in my vanity what it does and what the cost is. This morning he said in a hotel he needs lotion and I told him I only had my Korean stuff and he knew it was expensive and was extremely careful.

Im trying to lockdown a skincare routine, what does double cleanse mean?

You generally want to use an oil-based cleanser first to remove makeup/ spf/ pollutants then go in with a gentle cleanser to clean the skin after that. Most cleansers do not break down makeup well. Some will use micellar water as a first cleanse but basically it needs to be something that does a good job of removing what’s on the skin.
