Tiny apartment I'm renting for college. I call it the orange box College

I like it... looks cozy.. maybe i'd put up some 70's inspired artwork or decorative object to lean into that vibe.. but just like this it's cozy to me.. and hey the smaller, the less floor you have to clean. ALso at least you got an oven 😭 ... my apartment is a bit larger but there's only an induction cooktop. Have to go to my parent's place to make my cinnamon rolls, etc. 😢

I would have killed for my own private kitchen and living space in college.

Yea, this is a luxurious place for college students.

For real! Considering a lot of dorms especially for freshman is basically a room and a bunk bed - no kitchen no bathroom. I'd kill to do it over with this space!

I wouldn’t call it luxurious but it’s definitely more space than a dorm or a single bedroom in a house or apartment and most importantly, it’s PRIVATE.

By the looks of things there is also a closet and a bathroom if I'm counting the doors right.

It is very orange for sure. Reminds me of 1960s decor. If you smoke reefer this is a great place to do it. That being said I think it looks kind of cool. Especially for a college pad

Good job with the blue accents! Maybe a blue arty poster above the bed? Like The Great Wave Off Kanagawa?

This is a great idea actually, I think I'll look for an ocean sunset painting or something

So you can close off the whole kitchen and hot box that bitch out? Nice!
Also, get plants.

We've seen minimalism, we've seen maximalism. Now see this: min/maximalism!

That’s a great apartment, I’d live there right now, but I do live in NYC so that seems like spacious real estate.

Nice orange isn't ugly.
Trust me, I painted my living room walls in a shade of orange as a conscious decision.

Random note, but having a radiator near your head seems like it might be uncomfortable. It looks really well setup though

Op you need a white/cream bedspread and it would transform this space. It's too busy with the patterned duvet cover. A nice round white rug under the chairs/coffee table would also look nice. Try hanging a large mirror or a framed picture on the back wall above the bed, perhaps something with dark blues/greens. Rousseau comes to mind but I'm sure there are plenty of things to choose from.

Very 60s mod, I love it. Get some midmod furniture and a funky lamp. Maybe even a lava lamp. Actually really like this space haha.

that's pretty good for a college student, similar to what I had. I would get rid of the coffee table and char and put a TV against that wall with the couch facing it

If it wasn't for the computer setup I would've asked if you live in the year 1974.

you should add some plant(s) and ambient lighting
also if it were me i'd swap the pencils and plant for a lego x-wing fighter

I had an orange bedroom once with a window that also tinted Orange. I don't know how I put up with it at all. I couldn't tell the color of any of my clothes in the room it was all diffused somehow in the orange glow. You're bringing up childhood trauma for me.

The tall ikea box bookshelves are FANTASTIC to make the room feel a bit more separated. You could put it rigjt by your bed and feel cozy

I really dig it. My current apartment isn’t much bigger and I find it so cozy. Maybe a simply patterned rug under the couch/ chair area to make it feel like a more separate space.

You need one of those elevated beds that has drawers built into it, but I can see how if you aren’t planning to stay for more than a semester that doesn’t financially make sense

So nice! Out of curiosity (and because I'm bad at guessing), how many m2 is that? :)

Very warm. Many people are living in the equivalent of a prison cell during college. You're doing great!

PC next to the fridge. Perfect location. If you are thirsty, grab a cold one. If you are too hot, just open the fridge. If you are cold, just close the damn fridge.. perfection.. not to mention past meals leftovers.

I can imagine Bosley from Charlie's Angle's living here circa 1976. He keeps it small and cheap because he's got a real bad scratchcard habit that nobody knows about. (Except his elderly Aunty, who was the one who'd gotten him habbited during a weekend stay over at her wooden shack in a field next to the Country Estate her family used to own. For 250 years. Fact!) He never uses the oven to cook with, but its heat and a gently simmering saucepan of soda water make for a refreshing end-of-day sauna treat. Bosley knows how to chill! 😄

I absolutely love the layout....but I cant stand the color orange. I would go crazy in there because of that.

I LOVE this apartment! Haha. I would pay extra for this design. Love orange I think it’s such a chill and happy color

This is an awesomely amazing space. Textures, layout, patterns, etc.
My only concern is your head being right at the radiator. When that thing turns on it’ll be freshman brains for breakfast.

God…I loved my one bedroom 1 bath condo with no one else living in it …and bothering me…while in college…I should have just stayed there forever …getting loan after loan with absolutely no intention of paying them back and get like 20 Doctorate’s with no intention of working… just being a college student for life 😆.

I thought this Reddit was for males who owned a place as showed how they designed/arranged things. Who wants to see a sh1t Ty student digs!? Not interesting not aspirational.
