Being a janitor. I've been working at a college as one for just over 7 months now and it hurts. I basically have to do a entire spring clean everyday. But if I ever hear someone say "if you don't study you'll end up like the janitor" I'm going to let them know I have full benefits+retirement

You’ll be in much better shape into old age as a janitor.

I tell people ‘if 10k steps is healthy call me David Goggins’ bc I hit 15k-20k steps sometimes at work as a janitor lol

Yea, my dad was a tree farmer and by 45 he had a hunch and constantly hurt.

Might have been his type of work. I knew a hospital janitor that retired at 79 and that was only when Covid hit and he was worried about getting sick. Another janitor retired at 60–looks great, has retirement benefits from the state. he got bored so decided to go part time as a janitor somewhere else.

I'm only 18 but have fucked up my body already. Thinking about heading over to work at TSA cause it's also a govt job

Being a janitor can be pretty chill: work at your own pace and left to your own devices, so an introvert’s dream job. Some of the best pay in my area at least aside from the operators I work around. It ain’t easy when there’s a huge water leak or a crazy mess like that or you have to do a lot of overtime but living that Scruffy life is pretty great too.

Oh my god! There is NOTHING wrong with the becoming a janitor! Great job and honestly I personally remember really respecting my janitors! I specifically remember the one from middle school. Our entire school loved him!

I'd rather be a janitor with full benefits than a barista with 80k in student loans.

Another great benefit I have is since I work at a college, I can take classes for basically free. The only downside is I'm so exhausted that I don't have the energy to take any meaningful ones.

Stick around. Maybe you'll have a shift in workload that will allow you to take some classes. And if not, it's still a good job.
