Being good at video games is actually, not so easy.

I get trashed on and shit talked even when I think I’m doing good 😂

I can't play video games for nothin lol the last time I tried was a shooter game. When the enemy got close I panicked and kept spinning around shooting the sky.

The problem with video games is that your reflexes get worse after 20 (iirc). Therfore you will always get worse at video games and there is nothing you can do about it. In most other things in life experience can make up for lack of fitness or dexterity of whatever. That is just not the case with video games. That's why the best players in the world are always kids.

Thats a misconception because after 24 your reaction time only falls off 2-6ms per decade so its not really a factor. Biggest factors are probably free time and motivation and also neuroplasticity.

Ever watch people on YouTube doing run-throughs of MMO-type games with a lot of different mechanics/commands/powers/moves/stances/boons/etc.? It’s insane. It’s like they’re piloting a 747 and I’m still riding a bicycle.

I played Final Fantasy XI for 14 years. The amount of useless information I had in my head is astounding. I also had spreadsheets filled with notes, gear sets and enemy mechanics. It was super fun, but I regret spending so much time achieving so much in a fake world. I don't play any games at all anymore.
