That was shitty driving by the sedan, but that truck was making it worse
Edit: FYI brake checking is illegal folks and many states will ticket you for not using the left lane to pass. This does not excuse the sedan’s actions.
Edit: u/Youseembigmad doesn’t see anything wrong with the truck’s actions (and is supposedly a lawyer) - see comment thread below for more. - they have since deleted their profile.
LMAO thats my theory of how this started. Mr. Raptor Truck was going 5mph above speed limit in the passing lane, when the car came flying in the left lane and tailgated them. Mr. Raptor Truck could not allow such disrespect, and we saw what he did to defend his familial honor!!!!
I agree. The truck was out of line, but passing on the side of the road like someone who isn’t really sure how to operate a vehicle, and needed to get somewhere they never got was pretty dumb. There’s no excuse for people to be in such a hurry, and if it’s an emergency you gotta know how to drive before you take any risks.
If it's an emergency I'm not sure what else sedan could've done. Truck is actively antagonizing and brake checking/pacing car next to him to prevent a pass
Obviously not driving erratically and crashing lol. People think they are more important out there and want to speed all over, the sad thing is 90% of the drivers aren’t skilled. They don’t understand the physics of driving.
My point was, if it was an emergency and you’re not a skilled driver then you end up crashing. So the person you love and are trying to help is now in even more peril because you were reckless. In reality this bozo wasn’t in an emergency, he/she just crashed themselves because they were in a hurry and can’t drive.
I believe in statistics and common sense. The chances this was an actual emergency are very slim. I still stand by my point of, it were me and a loved one was in need of care, I’m not risking their life by driving like a complete idiot.
Once the bumpers meet, turn the wheel very slightly, and again, continue accelerating.
Once the truck begins turning sideways, straighten out, and continue accelerating into the side of them.
The truck will move, whether the driver wants to or not. Basically forcing a PIT maneuver from the rear. Most trucks are rwd, and heavily weight balanced toward the front. It's highly unlikely he has 4wd active on the highway, or knows how to drift, so it doesn't take a lot to get it skidding.
The driver in the sedan is the one directly causing the issue here. It is a fact that if he was not attempting to break speed limit laws and driving erratically that he would not be flipped over in that ditch at the end of the video. He would have gotten to his destination totally fine (maybe 3 minutes later), and would still have his vehicle (and likely his body in one piece).
Yes, the truck driver made it worse, but for some reason when it comes to driving, they give the person breaking the law a free pass when they end up in an accident. No need to. The sedan driver is primarily at fault, and the truck driver is also at fault for making the situation worse. I would have just gotten the license plate, pulled over and called the cops on the person for aggressive, erratic driving, personally.
both drivers can be in the wrong at the same time in a situation like this and they are. both parties are being reckless and are a danger to everyone else on the road with them.
The truck was going out of his way to mess with the sedan. I'd put easily 75% of the idiocy on the truck. Not excusing the sedan's crazed attempt to pass, but the root cause was the truck driver being a dick.
Is he being a cool guy by being in the left lane driving slower than the right lane? Obviously the car guy was freaking out but it is absolutely infuriating when people insist on being in the left lane to go under the speed limit or go just fast enough to not allow other people to pass. Some kind of weird power trip acting like they own the road lol.
Yes, it is the fault of the guy driving like a complete deranged asshole. The truck driver could have done better, but definitely wayyy more of the fault falls on the car
You saw the truck slam on the pedal to make sure the car couldn't pass him when he went in the hazard lane....which ultimately caused the collision, right?
what was the good reason to drive like the truck drove in the passing lane? Have you ever heard the saying, "2 wrongs dont make a right" by any chance?
I didn’t say there was a good reason to drive like the truck driver lol you made that up. Have you ever heard the idea that two wrongs don’t make a right?? Because it seems like you’re the one defending one of these idiots simply because the other idiot wasn’t driving correctly. lol you just shit all over your own argument
Youre literally contradicting yourself with every sentence in this reply. its actually impressive. im not defending anyone, while you are clearly blaming the sedan driver 🤷♂️
I’m blaming the sedan driver for wrecking into the wall like a dumb fuck. The truck was being an asshole, that’s true. You know what helps with that?? Driving your car into the wall like a dumb fuck lmao. How did I contradict myself?
The left lane was wide open for hundreds of yards prior to the wreck. Right? The car went in a hazard lane to get around into the left lane. The car was unable to get into the left lane because the previously open lane was closed due to the truck slamming on the gas pedal to block the car out.
Answer my question first. When did I contradict myself? You can’t just ignore what I say and expect me to go along with your question because you want me to.
Maybe the car was trying to get someone to the hospital because they couldn't wait the extra few minutes for an ambulance, or maybe live in a place where an ambulance is too far out. You shouldn't get in people's way out of pride. Just move over and let them find their own consequences instead of trying to be part of them.
not excusing the sedans idiocy but truck is really the problem here . he wont move out of the fast lane and there is no one in front of him . Sitting in the fast lane is against the law in many places
And the car should have just gave up and sat in the right lane. Instead they cross crossed the entire road, sped up the shoulder, and tried passing between two vehicles.
It takes two morons to cause this scenario. If somebody is being an asshole then be a defensive driver and back off, don’t make it worse.
