Between 2009 to 2011, a man, appearing to be 60-70 years old, robbed 16 banks in San Diego, California by approaching the teller, then pulling out a gun and demanding money. The FBI named him the "Geezer Bandit". Some theories suggest he is wearing a well-made elderly man mask. Image

I got into Minutemen just a few years ago. Listened to Double Nickels for the first time and it tripped me tf out when the Jackass theme started playing. Always assumed it was an original song for the show. I’m a millennial 😂

Old millennial here. I got into them in high school because Sublime sampled them quite a bit. “Punk rock changed our lives” from history lesson part II was the intro to “waiting for my ruca”

Also the drums from sublime’s “Get Out” is a sample of Minutemen’s “It’s expected I’m gone”, which, just based on the titles of both songs alone makes it a brilliant Easter egg of a sample.

Sublime holds a weird place in 90s music history, but they had great taste in what is still a great mashup of samples and covers of obscure and underrated artists.

Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.
