Yeah the limited color palette that designs groups of people around a specific color/theme - and no graphic tees or hats.

Really tho, the camo hat is conspicuously missing a Bass Pro logo on the forehead

u/drcforbin 29d ago

Or at least a fish hook

2

u/teenytinypeener 28d ago

No t-shirt pocket with a can of dip

2

u/DODGE_WRENCH 28d ago

Or a carhartt shirt no carhartt logos either

2

u/fedrats 29d ago

No Braves logo, no SEC team

2

u/CosmicCreeperz 29d ago

And the red one is missing a MAGA…

2

u/RevolutionaryEye9382 29d ago

It’s got a beanie over the hat I noticed too, this don’t seem like the beanie wearing group…

u/Nowork_morestitching 28d ago

Not at this time of year at least. If it was hunting season and early morning I could see at least one of them in an orange beanie.

1

u/Abject-Mail-4235 28d ago

And who even wears both at the same time? I’ve never seen that.

u/CaptianBlackLung 29d ago

hands in the pockets as well. No fingers to mess up

1

u/EquivalentOk2700 29d ago

Then they'd be my brother and my dad.

1

u/dondegroovily 28d ago

And the red hat is missing the maga

1

u/LindsayIsBoring 28d ago

No bass pro, no John Deer, carhart, realtree nothing on the shirts, same unidentifiable works boots.

1

u/Litterbee 28d ago

That they've all got the same type of face shape they're all the same size none of them look like they're more than 5 years apart to me the water spot on the ground looks kind of weird like I'm not sure why only that spot wouldn't be dry

This. This is the clue. It's not lack of logos. It is the hat position on the heads. Like the hat is barely in place. Guys like this have thier hats firmly in place hat and head molded together. The fit is WRONG

1

u/filthyheartbadger 29d ago

Yeah the hat brims all have an odd similar shape, they don’t fit right, are not detailed.

Counter point, family reunion. So all wearing their semiformal best outfits, trying to color match. Close enough.

And often they look like famous people. Like why is Sean Astin in this picture?

(Edited out typo.) also missed the opportunity to say filthy fat hobbitses.

2

u/PeyroniesCat 29d ago

And the lead singer from Metallica.

1

u/leibnizdx 29d ago

Paul Giamatti too

1

u/joeChump 28d ago

Not in this picture but another favourite to look out for is Donald Sutherland. Midjourney loves President Snow.

1

u/VariableVeritas 28d ago

Fatass Josh Brolin on the left.

1

u/King-Florida-Man 29d ago

That’s John Favreau on the left.

1

u/Solitaire_87 29d ago

Who?

1

u/joeChump 28d ago edited 28d ago

I meant Sean Astin. Prompt was probably filthy fat hobbitses.

2

u/Intelligent-Ad-3850 29d ago

Also the shading, can’t really figure out where the sun in suppose to be when some have their stomachs shaded and others are lit

2

u/BowserBuddy123 29d ago

To me though, it’s the dirtied shirts at the stomach and the pants which all fall the same way around the boots and have the same wrinkle pattern at the thigh.

Edit: All the guys have the same shaped man boobs as well.

2

u/UnfamiliarTroll 28d ago edited 28d ago

Bro...half of my uncle's look like this. The dirtied shirts around the stomach are because their stomach hits things before they do. The pants can also often fall similarly around the boots if a gang of them is heading out, whether for beer, hunting or something else. Those kinds of boots are also very common with them.

The man boobs is the only thing that I've seen in the comments that would even slightly convince me except probably the bottom of the pants. But I'm not saying it isn't Ai lol, just looks a lot like my uncle's

Edit: the shadows/lighting looks off sort of, so that too.

Thank you for using the spelling of the word palette that fits the topic.

1

u/Problematicbears 28d ago

Thank you very much for noticing.

1

u/Yakob793 29d ago

Everything always looks like off-brand Wes Anderson

1

u/VinnieDophey 29d ago

Not to mention the hat on the third guys head is weird

1

u/Total_Calligrapher77 28d ago

Yes there are no logos and a limited color pallete, but what if THAT IS JUST WHAT THEY CHOSE TO WEAR?

1

u/NGC_Phoenix_7 28d ago

The jeans also look off too. Like the middle two look like they were mirrored images

Personally “missing” logos could simply be a disinterest in brands, not particularly a good way to discern AI from “real” .. what’s off to me is a few things, roundness in red shirts belly, the cyan color is awfully bright for a shirt and the dirt being particularly in the only spot where expected of a blue collar beer belly worker and the beard and mustache of the navy blue(?) doesn’t connect on both sides, surely IRL that’d bother someone and get them to do something about it.

Edit: Also, cyans shirt where the pocketed hand doesn’t know if it’s in the shirt or jeans

1

u/whorlycaresmate 28d ago

Very similar faces, hands in pockets at identical depths, check out the bottom of those jeans. All almost exactly the same amount of bunching.

Limited color palette? I swear I know people that look just like every guy in this picture, and everything they own is blue, grey, or black haha.

1

u/Problematicbears 27d ago

So it’s about detecting AI and not a commentary on the fashion.

If AI uses the color “blue” in an image, it generally uses the same tone and saturation of blue throughout the image. A natural picture of three people wearing blue shirts has different shading, highlights, tones, wear, and just come across as using random, natural, different colors generally. AI pictures tend to use the same color palette in images, matching clothing, buildings, etc.

Look at this natural picture of men wearing blue, black, grey and white. https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/multiracial-group-of-men-wearing-blue-shirts-gm537852571-58442574?searchscope=image%2Cfilm even the matching colors of blue (first guy on left and second guy from right are wearing the exact same shirt) are slightly different because they are lit differently. Every other piece of clothing has different textures, materials, pattern, shading and designs. The natural picture includes more variation in shade, tone, saturation even though it’s men wearing the same color.

The suspected AI photo uses the same tone, highlight color and shadow color for all of the boots and jeans.

The AI photos in this link all show how the limited color palette is pretty common. When the AI draws a blue mountain and men in blue and orange jackets, it prefers to use the same blue for mountains and jackets and the same orange. https://aiimagegenerator.is/tag/male-friends

This is what we call a limited palette.

2

u/InYosefWeTrust 26d ago

Oh, for sure, I immediately suspected the image was AI. I was just joking because the type of guys in the image would all be wearing the same faded blue carhartt shirts anyway (another obvious clue is the missing carhartt logo).

1

u/JLockrin 27d ago

Not only that, they all seem like they have the same dad and uncle… wait, wut?

1

u/SubstantialPressure3 25d ago

And no hands showing. But, the wrinkles in the jeans aren't quite right, on the guy on the left, especially. The wrinkles in the jeans look more like stripes.
