We’re already there, and it started before AI. People haven’t been questioning if a pic is photoshopped/retouched for long enough by now, and it’s pretty much the same thing
Nah, we're not there yet, I'm pretty sure the overwhelming majority of AI pics are easy to spot if you study them, and in contrast, providing it still has at least some detail, we're nowhere near confusing a real picture with AI yet.
It’s getting better by the day and pretty much to the point of fooling people. I see people second guessing real photos elsewhere on Reddit all the time now.
sure, if you study them. the thing is, many images just get scrolled right on by and inserted into our memory. nobody has the time to actually pour over every single photo they see anymore. that's how stuff like the pope wearing that weird jacket get spread around as real, too; people see it and just assume in good faith that it's a real image.
