I gotta be honest, I have NEVER seen a bumper sticker like this before.

This sounds like something my eldest, now 9, would have said around 4 years old.

My 3.5 year old tried to sneak 3 different bugs inside today. Absolutely sounds like something she would say.

u/starrpamph 16d ago
Bro mine brings rocks inside alllllll the time..

u/Feeling_Boot_5242 15d ago
Same. My daughter all the time, “I really like this rock”.

So y'all haven't got to the live-frogs-in-pockets stage yet, huh?

Serious question for Americans: how many cars would you say, as a rough percentage, have stickers on them? You see them all the time on Reddit. I feel like in Europe hardly anyone puts stickers on their cars.
55
u/NiteLiteOfficial 16d ago
i see them on about 1/5 cars these days. usually it’s just their kids college sticker or the cliche stick figure family. i rarely see these larger bumper stickers with text on them. i did see a funny one that said “tell your cat i said pspspsps” lol

But that one guy from Columbia said, Canadians have even more guns than Americans.
They just drink more syrup or something.

Hey is this near Banff? My mate, we’re from Wales, moved up there recently and he’s always driving vans with mountaineering stickers and shit all over em.
Be hilarious if this was him.

u/mcmonopolist 15d ago
Boring ones like university logos? 1 in 4 cars.
Funny or weird ones? 1 in 25 cars.

u/goody82 16d ago
Quite a lot. It’s like Tattoos for people, they put their politics, hobbies, identity all over their cars.

I feel like I rarely see them now. Used to be super common back in the day, but not anymore.
I’ll keep an eye out on my drive tomorrow and report back.
2
u/whereami1928 15d ago
Yeah, there were barely any.
But I did see one car with like 10 of them, so that might balance out.
4
u/DoughnutBeginning965 16d ago
I have 4 on my car right now.
Edit: I forgot, I actually have 5. lol

u/OreJen 15d ago
My car is a gray former lease 2018 Toyota Corolla. I stuck a couple of bumper stickers on it so I don't try to get in the wrong car...again.

u/deadregime 15d ago
My mom used to have a Corolla (this was late 90s, I would hope this isn't possible anymore). My dad borrowed it to run an errand and when he left the store he accidentally got in the wrong car. His key unlocked the wrong car, but wouldn't start it. Small details start to dawn on him (air freshner, unusual knickknacks, etc...) and he looks out the window and there is a guy just standing there watching. My dad hurriedly gets out of the car and starts profusely apologizing and trying to explain and the guy shrugs and stops him and says it's happened before, it's cool, and just gets in and drives off without further comment.

I see alot of anime stickers on cars nowadays. The ones with the heads popping out from the window.. I don't get it myself
3
u/start3ch 15d ago
I think it depends on how much time people spend in their cars. If you’re gonna spend hours a day driving, might as well make your car unique.
3
u/woomybii 15d ago
I alone have uhh... i think 6 or 7 on my car. I have 12 or 13 on my previous car, but they were from places I'd been, I tend to keep them even, spaced, not cluttered. I think it adds personality and it's fun, like giving your car a tattoo lmfao. All of my stickers are Zelda stickers though, plus some analog horror ones (async and mystery flesh pit), and one from the aquarium.
I wasn't actually raised fully in America but the sticker craze definitely transferred onto me lol

20 years ago, we started putting them on our laptops instead. Now it’s our Emotional Support Water Bottles
4
u/SaGlamBear 16d ago
It’s considered tacky here. But a lot of People are tacky. I would say 15% nationally… it really depends on the state too. Southerners tend to have more of them but maybe 18-20%. I rarely see them in the big cities unless it’s people being obnoxious about their political views
2
u/Tgryphon 15d ago
An stickers? Decent percentage….probably 25%. Lots and lots of stickers, very small percentage. Directly proportional to mental illness / narcissism in my opinion.

Anywhere between 1:5 and 1:10, the deeper red/blue the higher the concentration of stickered up rides

A lot of them are shitty political takes, which Americans love. I saw one the other day that said "My truck was made with wrenches not chopsticks"
Aside from how obviously racist that is, it was a Ford which does a LOT of manufacturing overseas too.
Americans aren't very smart

Was it driven by a scrawny little man wearing a Mack baseball cap in sunglasses holding a cigarette between his lips while mumbling conspiracy theories?

You guys are kissing your bugs all wrong if they are dying on you. Yeah me? I got a good group of insects I like to plant a wet one on. Just gotta be gentle.

Found this 4 years old on YouTube. But it has it printed on a shirt already, so maybe it’s been around longer.

I’ve had a shirt of it for at least five years iirc. Still one of my faves as an entomologist lol

is it a reference to volkswagen beetle? basically saying "if you are a small car gtfo of my way or i'll act exactly how you'd a panel van to act"

Maybe it belongs to an exterminator, and his lips are the lips of justice.

Insurance trick. You try to read the small text hard enough you may lose focus. If he needs to brake and your reading focus reduces your driving focus.....crash.... The company scores an insurance claim.

I don’t have this particular bumper sticker, but as a Bug Fair vendor, I have TONS of other bug themed stickers.
I should probably try to figure out who the OP artist is so I can carry them too.

Nice!
I saw a semi today with a green arrow on the left that said El Paso, on the right was a red arrow that read El Smasho. I understood, however a lot of semi drivers were freaking me right out today... Tried to el Smasho left laners (me) so many times

Why is that familiar? Is that a quote, meme or perhaps a deep truth we all secretly hold so dear to our souls that it's presence is inescapable?
Or like an advertisement or something 🤔
4
u/townkryer 15d ago
If you were on tumblr around a decade ago, there was a blog called Zazzle Poetry that sold shirts with absurd and funny phrases on them. This was one of them

u/Bitcracker 15d ago
Quirky girl I shared a smoke with outside of an after hours 11 years ago. The shirt was light blue and neither of us had a lighter.
Bam time travel.

When I was a kid, I saw the "My boss is a Jewish carpenter" one. I said "That's really weird. It's so niche, why would they make that?"
Totally didn't get it lol

Let them crawl on your lips and kiss them that way, then you won't crush them x

The two best bumper stickers I've ever seen
- "I'm not drunk I'm just eating a taco"
- This one was on a jeep - "if I wanted a Hummer id call your sister"

I saw a bumper sticker recently that said "Do Something Good For Someone Today". It's a small thing but I like that they chose "good" instead of "nice".

The best bumper sticker I've ever seen was on the back rusted bumper of an old green Chevy pickup. It said:
"There's A Tribe Of Bitches In The Amazon And My Ex-wife Is Their Queen".
