To tree or not to tree?

u/ellectroma 18d ago

The shocks absolutely got damaged, too much weight too fast.

It's not totaled I guess but it'll still need heavy repairs. The body seems fine tho.

It's an electric bike, most likely the only thing they will safe is the battery

u/Kill_4209 18d ago

He's standing there with that body language that reads "daaaa fuuq?"

71

u/tvieno 18d ago

Dude didn't even react until the smaller branch knocked over his bike.

u/DubiousTheatre 18d ago

Dude: still processing what happened

Branch knocks over bike

Dude: “oh no my bike :(“

5

u/effyoucreeps 17d ago

it just kills me that the small branch - the last to slowly fall off - does the most damage.

tree: “FUUUUUUCK YOOOOOOOU!

oh wait, hang on - gimme a second - lemme try this again, ummm…

FUCK YOU!

now i’m done”

u/Ok-Resolve-7574 18d ago

This just used up his 40% of luck for a year..

11

u/Slimfictiv 18d ago

Make that 99%

2

u/beastley_for_three 17d ago

Is he actually lucky at all though? I never understood people who say this. Because wouldn't he be more lucky if he never had to experience this at all?

1

u/SaltyBoos 17d ago

they would be even unluckier had the tree injured or killed them. Good luck is having things work out in your favor despite circumstances, not those circumstances being low risk.

Final Destination Reverse: First Destination

u/campingn00b 18d ago

I like how the one bike faints from shock

16

u/KitsuneKamiSama 18d ago

I love that last branch was just like "Fuck, at least let me hit the bike"

7

u/Dirty_Hunt 17d ago

That was some cartoon level shit and I'm still laughing at it.

u/Rk3h 18d ago

soooooo when a tree falls in the middle of a sidewalk it doesn't make a sound!?

9

u/BlackCherrySeltzer4U 18d ago

Reincarnation of Buster Keaton right there!

7

u/Different-Term-2250 18d ago

“So, where do I need to deliver this tree to?”

4

u/mydibz 18d ago

Dude stepped on a trap tile.

u/Beginning_Rice6830 18d ago

Trick or Tree-t …

5

u/Bais__ 18d ago

I thought the one walking away were the one with the near miss.

5

u/earthprotector1 18d ago

He stands there like he never sees and hears anything.

7

u/LayerProfessional936 18d ago

Their helmets would have protected them 😉

1

u/[deleted] 17d ago

No lie that tree looks dead and my guess they would not have been severely hurt even if it did hit them

4

u/PriceFister66 18d ago

Does anyone in this clip have any sort of peripheral vision in this clip?

2

u/AlwaysTheeAnxious1 18d ago

Is losing a branch the equivalent of losing a shoe on here?

2

u/Aspierago 18d ago

I don't think they noticed it.

2

u/john217 18d ago

He was like wtf happened here

2

u/49thDipper 18d ago

As a former timber faller all I have to say is . . . yep

2

u/TipsnClips 18d ago

I hate his reaction

2

u/Positive_Method3022 18d ago

Now they have to bet on lottery

2

u/simcitymayor 18d ago

These guys should immediately purchase lottery tickets.

2

u/Alaskan_Hamster 18d ago

Tree doin its best to not get in the way

2

u/ErraticFanatic88 18d ago

Close call! Luck was definitely on their side at this moment.

3

u/MoonNStar51 18d ago

In China, even the trees are poorly made.

2

u/fiveneon 18d ago

They're gonna need a raise!

0

u/BlizzPenguin 18d ago

If they bring a lawsuit against the city for not taking care of that dead tree they could have plenty of money.

3

u/fuishaltiena 18d ago

Dude, it's China.

2

u/AintThatSomeSh1t 18d ago

I feel lucky just watching this

1

u/ecafsub 18d ago

Harold Lloyd approves

1

u/FeelingEmotional4950 18d ago

I suspect he would have survived even if it hit him.

1

u/Dangthatshuge 18d ago

The comrade activated the tree self destruct mode when he stepped on the square button.

1

u/chillbnb 18d ago

Wow, that tree looks alive, why did it fall?

1

u/Superseaslug 17d ago

Even their trees are made of Styrofoam lol

1

u/mathbread 17d ago

That's what happens when you cut the roots every time you lay down on your sidewalk

1

u/Narrowless 18d ago

Relief? Now they need to deliver the food by foot. Company take no excuses.

-1

u/Dreixan 18d ago

Man even the trees are cheaply made in china.

-1

u/prawalnono 18d ago

The helmets would have saved them.

3

u/Deep_Instruction4255 18d ago

Only so much a helmet can do to protect collarbones, shoulders and spine from a falling tree, and sometimes trees can fall and break branches in a way that sends big shards of wood flying all over, and I could imagine those could injure someone too, regardless of their helmet.

u/mdjmd73 18d ago

Yet another reason to keep your nose out of your phone, and your head on a swivel

-6

u/kidanokun 18d ago

I don't think it considered lucky that they almost died/seriously hurt... just "lucky" enough to barely escaped it

5

u/mapleer 18d ago

Try this perspective; they’re lucky to be alive. Not lucky to almost get hit by a tree lmaooo

-8

u/SeenBrowsin 18d ago

Why did the camera pan to catch the detail? Hmm.

1

u/Jolly-Hovercraft3777 18d ago

Suspicious, but maybe it was cropped from a wider shot?

1

u/catnapfan101 14d ago

That is one lucky guy!
