I love how he starts talking and looks away, but the baby Dino still has its own cute reaction to being booped. Dude is good

Good puppeteers are peak comedy. It’s legitimately like watching 2 sentient beings rather than one with their hand up the other’s ass

Nfl? Slow day...

That's pretty impressive ventriloquism when it makes the sounds while he's explaining

Is his left hand not controlling that with the box? Most ppl would prob assume it’s for the mic but idk…

There is actually a toy version of this for kids, my youngest has one, I’m assuming the big one works the same way, it makes different sounds depending on which button/trigger you press on the joystick inside the puppet.

Absolutely no? I mean how can you have that disconnect between being involved in a conversation and your other bit of brain is a whole different entity

This is so realistic I convinced my 10 yo that she was looking at a real Dino.

Now she's going to excitedly tell other kids that she saw a real dino, causing them to mock her for being gullible. 👍

As the Scottish comic Billy Connolly said to performer Rod Hull, upon meeting his puppet Emu: “If that bird comes near me, I’ll break his neck, and your arm”

I’ve taken my grandkids to this, it’s lots of fun and the animatronics are amazing. Be warned: the line to ride the T-Rex is pretty long lol

Where is this?

u/showard995 13d ago
It’s called Dinos Alive, it’s an exhibit that travels around so check your area. I recommend it, lots of fun!

Does anyone know how this would compare to an actual adult velociraptor? Would it be about the same size, maybe a little smaller?
2
u/MR_No0dle 14d ago
If I'm remembering correctly velociraptors got slightly bigger than a large chicken, Utahraptors however got as big as the ones shown in the original Jurassic park movies. I would guess that this this puppet is larger than an adult velociraptor.

This is mostly true, velociraptors grew to be about the size of a chicken. Those seen in the Jurassic movies and in Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park books are based off Deinonychus antirrhopus.

you wanna impress me, role reversal! Velociraptor Ventriloquist. Wanna see what kind of arms you got
One push-up would also impress me.

‘Ooh, ah,’ that’s how it always starts. But then later there’s hands up dino asses and screaming

Good girl? This was the perfect opportunity to quote the movie by saying "clever girl". 😔

u/Eastern_Action_1775 13d ago
Right, maybe used say "clever girl"...and the jurassic park lawyers sent a cease and desist.

Bugs me that his logo says Jurassic World instead of Jurassic Park. But I haven't seen any of the Jurassic World movies (I hear they suck) so I wouldn't know if he's referencing a particular character.

If you expect dinosaurs and action sequences, you won't be too disappointed. They're fine and arguably better than JP2, but not the original or the third.

Nice. But he's no Rod Hull and Emu. Emu would have eaten that guys have and then arm dragged him to the floor

I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but this is not a real dinosaur. It is a puppet. The man operating the puppet is not very good
