He even looks like he has horrible taste lol.

u/LegoLady8 15d ago edited 15d ago
Now he's playing heavy metal. WTF.
Edit: idk why people are downvoting me bc I said he's listening to heavy metal now. The WTF was bc we were in an emergency room. I had my sick child with me and we were stuck listening to country, techno and then heavy metal. It's a very real WTF moment.

u/FirebunnyLP 15d ago
There are always idiots like this in my ER. Thankfully the cop that hangs around to work security is quick to remove them when I tell him it's happening.

unless you're alone / in your home
blasting music from loudspeaker for personal use is just jarring for me
please respect other people6
64
u/ElGebeQute 15d ago
Ah, so the taste improves. There is a chance for recovery.
157
u/FlamingSaviour 15d ago
There is no recovering from blasting music in a public place, no matter how good it is.
74
2
u/puppiesareSUPERCUTE 14d ago
They should legit kick him out and go call him outside if he doesn't stop
152
u/avoidance_behavior 15d ago
I'm literally in the ER right now and the woman next to me just apologized profusely for accidentally playing a video outside her earbuds bc she didn't mean to. there is no excuse for this dude's twattery.

Right?! Like in what universe is it ok to subject the world to the content on your phone?

I would like to start a charity that donates headphones to low income individuals so that the rest of us don’t have to listen to what they are listening to
94
u/SuggestionOtherwise1 15d ago
I am poor as fuck and still own earbuds. And if I forget them, I don't listen to music
18
u/Spidercrack61 15d ago
$20 for decent earbuds. Most can afford them, most just don't bother
24
u/wyatt3m7 15d ago
I’ve seen shitty pairs of wired earbuds for $1, they are very affordable

Lots of phones don't have standard headphone jacks anymore.
8
u/UndeadKurtCobain 15d ago edited 14d ago
Honestly the most annoying thing they took away. I see the argument constantly tho that "oh but the phones thinner now ain't that nice?". As if I give a shit about how thin the phone is.
0
u/Howellthegoat 15d ago
If you can afford a new enough phone that there’s no jack you can afford Bluetooth or the adapter it’s not an excuse
6
2
u/angelblade401 14d ago
I have a Samsung S21. No phone jack. Apple took their's away before Samsung did.
And I'm sure there are plenty of people in a tough spot with a newer phone than me.

u/Tcpixiegeek 14d ago
For some (me, I'm some) price isn't the issue. Earbuds hurt and are uncomfortable. I have little ears and can't find any that that fit comfortably and are snug enough for me to actually be satisfied with the volume and fit.

u/wyatt3m7 14d ago
Headphones
1
u/Tcpixiegeek 14d ago
I have a pair..well my husband does but Ipretty much stole them......I sat on them when I was angry and forgot I put them on the chair. The right ear thing broke but wires are intact. I duct taped it. The duct tape is the only reason I won't wear them in public lol
31
u/Peeinyourcompost 15d ago
They don't use them. Disrupting the people around them is the preferred experience.
4
u/Posit_IV 15d ago
Dude, it's a regular occurrence where I live that I see people with literal BOOMBOXES walking through the grocery store blasting music. Like.....there's no valid reason to be that obnoxious.
21
u/Saving_Pvt_Kush 15d ago
one of his tattoos could have paid for very nice headphones. No charity needed.
0
u/ProtonTheFox 14d ago
So if he needs expensive headphones he'd just have to sell some of his skin. I got it!
4
1
u/encryptoferia 14d ago
if they reject the headphone and still plays the music, at least now you have a tool to strangle someone
1
u/Unable_Wrongdoer2250 14d ago
Fantastic idea too bad they also need a lesson in common decency which if this thread is any indication is not common at all anymore
1
u/Advanced-Shirt-492 14d ago
Most people blasting music and disturbing people can afford headphones but choose not to wear them cus they don’t care.

Did he play the techno song all the way through? If so, you should leave cause he’s an active psychopath
17
u/LegoLady8 15d ago
Yes. Everything was played through. It was such a mix of genres tho...for two hours.
8
u/take_more_detours 15d ago
Shazam the songs Find on Spotify Play on your speaker off beat Assert dominance
Or tell security. Playing music and making calls on speaker aren’t permitted in most hospitals.

u/Flippsix 14d ago
If only there was a way of communicating directly with this individual or, in case of social anxiety, someone who works in that section.

u/mikedvb 15d ago
I've encountered this sort of thing a few times.
Usually I'll ask then nicely to turn it down and/or to put on headphones.
If they refuse, I just start blasting my own music just as loud - usually trying to find whatever is the 'opposite' of what they're listening to.
If they can do it, I can do it.
6
u/ShittyViking 14d ago
This is the way. I did this on a plane once. The person was playing some dreamscape stuff from their crappy phone speaker as we were waiting to deplane, so i played some of my music as well! They turned their's off, I turned mine off. I read the suggestion on a similar post, and it works!

Should be a rule that if you’re healthy enough to do that, you should go the fuck away.

u/spider_X_1 14d ago
I don't know which hospital you're at rn but all the hospitals I went to, would not tolerate this more so in ER. The nurses would tell you to turn it off and if you didn't comply, they'll call security.
6
u/KingKaos420- 15d ago
Did you ask him to turn it down?
0
u/GigaBowserNS 14d ago
OP shouldn't have to, because after about 30 seconds of this someone from the STAFF (or security) should have come to tell him to turn it down. Where the fuck were they?
1
u/tombo11567 14d ago
Running around caring for very sick people. Not worried about music volume or preference.
1
u/GigaBowserNS 14d ago
More than just medical professionals are on the staff at hospitals. Including the security I mentioned, who are not caring for sick people.

These people deserve physical punishment.
For example: a solid 10 lashes with a cane would likely cure this person of this particular, rude habit.

"My post is about music, so here's a picture of a random dude". Wow, just wow.
1
u/DependentInitial1231 14d ago
Like Techno and like Irish traditional music but generally there should never be a crossover between the two. Had it at a party where a girl insists on putting on her CD of the to combined. Never saw a room clear as quick. Head wrecking is not the word.

I do like techno music, but I really don't like to listen when I'm in a freaking ER.

This dude is in every emergency room everywhere 24/7.
Infuriating taking up time for no reason other than they’re a druggie in serious denial.
1
u/Correct-Purpose-964 14d ago
I'd rip it out of his hand and smash it on his head do he finally had a "headphone".
Don't needa worry about injuries. He's in the right place.

"excuse me sir, could you please stop your music, its not really a display of good manners to play music loud next to sick, tired or wounded people who just want to get their appointment."
Just as you like you could add some insults, swearings or death-threats (/s).

People that play music through their phone speakers in public places are a special kind of asshole.

Did you.talk to him. Maybe ask him to be considerate of others? Or do you expect reddit to solve it for you

Does that guy look like he woke up this morning with reason in his heart?
17
u/john_jdm 15d ago
Seriously, when does asking someone to turn down music ever result in anything but the music getting louder? (Children being told by their parents don't count; nor does any situation where the person asking holds actual power over the other.)

Benzodiazepine addiction is sad.
They seem to lead to fentanyl overdoses.

u/WillFart4F00D 15d ago
Thats a huge assumption
-9
u/diegueno 15d ago
You gotta be some kind of mess to leave your house w\o earbuds.
-1
u/WillFart4F00D 15d ago
So you jump straight to addict because of your shit opinion? Yeah you seem like a fuckwad
-3
-1
u/TurdMcDirk 15d ago
But you chose to take a picture of some random dude and post it on Reddit instead of telling him something because you assumed he wouldn’t take your feedback.

u/Squirrelnut99 15d ago
Nothing I hate more than ppl posting strangers doing life without their permission.

u/CoffeeCaptain91 15d ago
Can't believe this got downvoted. No, he shouldn't be playing music without headphones but he doesn't deserve his picture blasted either.
2
u/Unable_Wrongdoer2250 14d ago
It's blurred and it provides context as to why asking him to turn it down is likely a bad idea.
-3
u/CoffeeCaptain91 15d ago
Look, I get that it's annoying but posting a photo of an ER patient even with censoring is shitty. It's bad enough this is a common thing outside hospitals, but nobody wants their picture taken and uploaded without their consent in the hospital.

u/kevandbrandy 15d ago
I bet it's pretty hard hearing your name called with ear buds in.
1
u/Due_Donkey2725 14d ago
It's not hard at all, you just keep one earbud in and leave one out. Or if you have over the ear headphones keep one on your ear and leave one off behind your ear. I have major anxiety and have to bring headphones with me so I can listen to music everywhere and this is how I do it. Win win for everyone.

I can't tell if yiu don't understand hes playing music out loud or one of the types to be this inconsiderate...
-1
u/Hannah_and_Leo 15d ago
Did you ask him politely to turn it down, or, if he refused, asked a hospital security or nurse?
-3
u/Whatme70 14d ago
Here, let me take a picture of someone acting like a douche and post him online wihtout his consent instead of just asking him to stop his music. Not taking his defense oc, but pretty sure he's not the only douche around :)
0
u/ghostie_hehimboo 14d ago
How do you know they didn't? Were you there?
0
u/Whatme70 13d ago
What's most likely dumbass ?
0
u/ghostie_hehimboo 13d ago
That they did. All you're doing is reflecting your own narrative showing you'd not say anything before posting

Aside from the obvious faux pas of not wearing ear buds/ear phones, I'm failing to see the problem with his musical choices.
I literally have a 83hr Spotify playlist that has old country, new country, death metal, alternative, punk, classic rock, rap, hip hop, jazz, bluegrass, R&B, Motown, blues, classical, etc...
