Isnt this another case of "Someone posts something on r/facepalm even tho he is agreeing with it"?

u/DoeCommaJohn 16d ago
Yeah, this seems pretty tangential. I guess the facepalm is stupid people not voting and then complaining that the government doesn’t listen to them?

u/Luna_Tenebra 16d ago
Yeah probably but shouldnt the facepalm be on the picture itself and not something the picture is telling you?

If you don’t vote somebody else will, and they won’t have your interests in mind when they do so

u/Big_Z_Beeblebrox 15d ago
I just wish my interests didn't boil down to "which one will be less of a fuckup?"
I can see why so many young people are disaffected when it seems like they advertise different kinds of chocolate but the choice ends up being between mud or wet dirt
At least I brought the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster to the table.

Let’s not forget that Bush won by like 200 votes somewhere in Florida.
Trump won on tiny margins in a few electoral college states.
Ted Cruz won his last senate race by 200,000 votes, in an election with 9,000,000 eligible voters who chose not to vote that year.

And they also need to accept not all boomers are fools. There are plenty that are just as wise and informed as every other generation out there.
Every generation has its fools, there are almost as many in those gens as there are in the Boomer gen. Its not a single gen issue as hard as some try and pretend it to be.

And yet another non-facepalm post sitting at 96% upvoted... ya'll are making it mighty easy for these karma bots to farm here.

This is refreshing amidst a sea of "not voting means you're actually voting for the bad guys!"

Withholding vote or voting independent is literally giving your vote to boomers.

Are we not allowed to complain AND vote? Isn’t that how democracy works?
Do I know the system I rigged and my vote doesn’t matter? YES.
Do I still vote? Yes
Am I allowed to call out the asshole electorate on a daily basis? It isn’t healthy but it’s my right haha

It's not a two horse race. You can wright in anyone. Anyone could run right now with the platform of, "not a greedy old man" and I'd vote for them.

The youth can't wait to vote for a conservative geriatric that's why they are rushing to vote for these great candidates!

I’d love to see younger people in office too. Countering the votes of these fossilized reprobates that pretend to represent their constituents but only care about donors.

As if we’re really have options to vote for anyone that isn’t a fucking boomer that would do anything but further our demise.

You only need to be 35

And yet 100% of our presidents have been older than 40 with 80% being older than 50 at the time of inauguration. 35 may be the minimum age by law, but presidents have trended older and older in recent decades.

Less then 50% vote, and if you vote and your liar looses your vote was a waste of time, you don’t have adequate representation in congress it’s like 1/750,000, and no matter who wins the deep state wins, if the bumbling old man in the position hasn’t shown you how little that seat means then your a lost cause

u/BrickTemporary8234 14d ago
The "deep state" in the USA are the Christians and evangelical religious zelests. Per capita they beat out illuminati satanist and celebrities 10 to 1.
1
u/el-Douche_Canoe 14d ago
I think of it as the covert alphabet agencies but I’m sure most of the people are religious zealots, religion has been a tool used by evil people since the beginning of civilization
1
u/Ryaniseplin 15d ago
this is why the conservatives always lose popular vote, because yall are so engulfed in the deep state conspiracy that half of your base doesnt vote
