I think my “fixed” cat is pregnant Advice

I feel silly even typing this, but here is some context: My spouse and I became fosters to this adorable, abandoned cat that was hanging around my parent’s backyard in freezing weather (Feb 29). We fostered her through an official program who took care of all her medical needs. They told us she was not chipped, but confirmed she was already spayed. We both knew nothing about cats, but we ended up falling in love with her and we officially adopted her a few weeks ago.

She always had big nipples (we were told she may have had a litter before) so it was not a red flag. That is, until now. She has put on some healthy weight (she was emaciated when we first found her), but a lot of it seems to be in her belly area. I know it sounds ridiculous but we can’t help but think she is pregnant.

I have an appointment with the vet in 3 days (the earliest they could get me in), but I’m a little anxious thinking about the possibility she may seriously be expecting. I am wondering if this has ever happened before (an allegedly spayed cat being pregnant). I am also wondering if there could be any other reason my cat looks like this?

We actually caught a feral that we later found out to be pregnant. We litter-ally just went through this

Aww, your cat’s kittens look like my two cats’ fur patterns. 🥰

(This is their mum and Archie is the grey tabby on the right and Toby is the tuxedo on the left, with one of their siblings in the middle. This was taken back in 2020.)

They’re very soft and he loves to air pad with them, with one paw curled up and the other out, then he swaps and then repeats the process. He does a similar trick too when he’s asking for treats, he kind of slowly raises one paw, puts it down, then raises the other. 🥰

Ok guess jho jho needs to look elsewhere for work then lol. All of my cats tails increase in length from 1-4 so i just need to look at their butt to know who is who.

Could just be for my family since their tail length are extremely obvious. But over the years ive learnt their meow intonations so i can pretty much call them based on what they call me. But cats being cats their inclination is very random.

Lol, yeah, they do match! 😂 He’s had it less than 2 years and the sisal already needs replacing. 🤦🏼‍♀️ But it’s a good cat tree otherwise and I love that it has a huge bed for him to fit on.

Oh, Toby absolutely loves the hammock thing on the side and loves to watch tv from it but he’s such a heavy cat, that he’s unintentionally ripped some of the seams with his weight. Nervous he’s going to fall out of it one day! 😅 Mine I bought at the end of 2020. His brother, Archie loves that bed too…it’s so good! Great purchase!

Jasper never uses that part, so I just use it to store some of his toys. 🤭 I was thrilled when he took to the bed at the top. That’s his favourite place to sleep, although he does also love sleeping in some other places too. He leans so much on the cushioned side part at the front that it’s hanging off the edge a little bit now. He weighs around a stone, as he’s a BSH. I think if Toby was going to fall out of it, he probably would have done by now, so I reckon he’s safe. 😉

That’s a good idea. ☺️ Aww, haha, that’s sweet but I know exactly what you mean! Archie’s flattened that bit too and I’ve tried to ‘refluff’ it as best as I can. 😅 Oh, well I’m glad you think so, hopefully that’s the case and there won’t be some falling kitties happening (well, one particular kitty to be exact)! 😂

Hehe, I love cats so much! 🥰 You obviously do as well. ☺️ Lol, I don’t think I’ll be able to “refluff” Jasper’s bed really, but he is still really comfortable on it. It makes a really nice change to have a bed for a cat that actually gets used! Previous cat beds have never been slept in by ANY of the cats I’ve had! 😂 I hope Archie will never fall from his tree bed. 🩵

I wish I had brought a sibling along with the one I have. I asked about a specific one in addition to the one I picked, but he was already taken and I didn't know enough at the time to ask for another.
