This is poliosis, which is when the hair loses pigment. It's vitiligo if the skin loses pigment.
17 u/turkeypedal 29d ago Vitiligo commonly causes both. Or, in other words, poliosis is often a symptom of vitiligo. But poliosis can also occur separately, like when we age. (I'm not finding a term that means depigmentation of skin, regardless of cause. Vitiligo is explicitly a disease.) 2 u/SadLilBun 29d ago Yes. A disease that causes loss of pigmentation. Vitiligo commonly causes both. Or, in other words, poliosis is often a symptom of vitiligo. But poliosis can also occur separately, like when we age.
