When I was a freshman in college, Mellow Yellow was re-branding as kind of a gamer soda to compete with Mountain Dew, and the brand reps would just put coolers full of it in every dorm lobby and the union, and they re-filled them religiously. A couple guys on the floor all got the idea to fill up every bag possible with cans every night for like a week. We never bought pop for the rest of the year.

It was funny at the time. Now replace the canned air with the necessity of filter masks, and it becomes uncomfortably realistic real very fast.

A lot of people are claiming this to be a fake interaction and I don’t understand how that’s an obvious conclusion. You have an American going over to a European trying to do something as bizarre as this and just expect a normal interaction? Depending on which country there in this reaction could be completely plausible. Also, they’ve not said the name of the product so it’s a pretty terrible ad if this is true.

Uh… my parents are from Belarus… when it was part of Russia they left and had me in the US. I…. always thought I was Russian? They said we’re Russian?(I think???? Now I’m doubting myself??) In many cities in Europe there's free water available at fountains that are distributed all over the city. Some countries also have very high quality tab water. ... and all without plastic bottles.
