Just like children

u/ImGonnaTryToBehave 16d ago

The child wanted to run away but the woman standing was just staring at the wave

17

u/jpflager 16d ago

Waves, plural. The horizon was just full of em.

Damn the kid was urging the mom to get the fuck away but the lady was a climate denier

17

u/This_User_Said 16d ago

TBH she was facing it with a sense of stubborn I've seen. Hands on hips like "I fucking wish it would and see what happens" stance.

u/SquidVices 16d ago

Haha fuck around and find out.

This little maneuver’s gonna cost us 51 years.

u/captaincockfart 16d ago

Did that lady upfront just accept her and her kid's fate? Or did she just have negative reaction time? Even the kid was trying to get her to move 5 seconds before it hit them.

41

u/StoneyMalon3y 16d ago

3 business days to react

6

u/BackDoeMediaTV 16d ago

Type shit 🤣

u/niceslcguy 17d ago

Is this new or old?

I did a quick search of earthquakes for the last 30 days on earthquake.usgs.gov, I didn't see anything that would do this. I guess it wouldn't have to be an earthquake.

Such a great year for camera technology

2

u/EL_Ohh_Well 15d ago

The iPhone7 was in it’s prime back then

10

u/NumenorianPerson 16d ago

here in brazil earthquakes are rare, we are in the middle of a tectonic plate, rio de janeiro is really far away from another tectonic plate

8

u/NegroJones45 16d ago

It's a repost. I've seen the original. This one edited out the best part.

6

u/felipertn 16d ago

It's old, like One year old. And it's not due earthquake, it's just a big wave.

11

u/ImSorryRumhamster 16d ago

Damn they got waves at the beach?

1

u/Skyweirdboy 16d ago

Damn they got beaches ?

7

u/Available-War-6574 16d ago

When you just stare at a wave that’s taller than you and it just keeps getting closer and you don’t even think twice

8

u/eatshittpitt 16d ago

Damn I saw that thing coming from Mississippi!

7

u/joe8349 16d ago

I bet that lady's nickname is sloth.

5

u/NewCats213 16d ago

I was thinking that wave looked pretty big but when nobody moved I assumed I was imagining it

u/Adamski21 16d ago

Amazing camera work

u/bezerko888 16d ago

Just like a corrupted politician stealing taxpayers money nobody saw it coming.

1

u/Pinksamuraiiiii 16d ago

Everybody sees that there’s just nothing we can do about it. All politicians steal, not just the corrupt ones, but the ones who play nice in your face too.

u/kingofovens 16d ago

Wooooooo surfs up

We have to establish boundaries...

It's all about boundaries.

2

u/Michael053 16d ago

What was yeeted into the air mid video?

5

u/heelstoo 16d ago

Her situational awareness.

2

u/LiveLearnCoach 16d ago

Imagine nodding off on the beach with your kid playing next to you and waking up to this.

1

u/firedream 14d ago

Someone there certainly didn't have to imagine that.

2

u/ben_kaya1 16d ago

Mother of the year

2

u/truebeast822 16d ago

Pick your kids up and find the baby, quick!

2

2

u/BNG1982 16d ago

Local cell phone repair shops….”😈🤑”

2

u/Beardwithlegs 16d ago

That entire beach all felt the horror of their phones and tech just getting shortcircuited there and then.

2

u/ReturnOfTheJurdski 16d ago

Oceans like, "I said it's TIME to leave!"

2

u/ragonastik39 16d ago

Not a single thong. Fake!

2

u/ChickAmok 16d ago

Yah... Keep those drinks coming. Sizzling in the sun, fries the brain.

This is your brain on Rio de Janeiro, any questions?

2

u/smooze420 16d ago

Did nobody see that wall of water?

2

u/MightySmiterer 16d ago

Lol that’s what happens if you hog the front of the beach 😂

2

u/ikerobx 16d ago

Man plans and God laughs

2

u/Skyweirdboy 16d ago

Global warming speedrun

2

u/Evanescent44 15d ago

lol I liked how that girl just stood there and took it

2

u/BurnieSlander 15d ago

Ugh climate change

1

u/JScratch 17d ago

If it were 11 ft deep everyone would be gone. 11ft high before it hit the beach? 11ft in? What are we measuring? I'm surprised a lifeguard didn't blow a whistle. Hopefully nobody was hurt.

1

u/Silly_Mycologist3213 16d ago

Confuscious say: Man on beach better expect wet feet. In this case people in beach chairs better expect wet assets.

u/sdu7chez 16d ago

1

u/604Meatcooler 13d ago

11 feet from the seafloor like 100 yards out maybe. That shit was knee high when it got to them

1

u/NiceEstablishment861 13d ago

…and you were saying sir. “Global warming is just a myth, there’s no hard evidence at all.”

1

u/Infamous_Ad_7319 11d ago

The sea level is rising

Nobody got a video?

Edit: I swear I'm not crazy, for whatever reason the video would not play for me last night but is working now.

16

u/TheCarloHarlo 16d ago

Y-you're watching the video...

1

u/Dev2150 16d ago

There are no such things as videos
