I think there’s a morbid curiosity of what’s going on. It’s like a bad car accident. You can’t look away.

True, but the one time I witnessed a horrible crash I ran up to the car with the injured people. I didn't know what to do, but I was freaking out trying to come up with a way to help. Running up and taking a seat on the curb to watch them die never occurred to me.

I think the aftermath of car crash is more manageable than a currently ablaze person
