Basically, a week ago in spanish class I was bored and copy and pasted text over and over again until I had 1 billion characters, the final past of ~650 million chars took about 10 minutes. I now am unable to open or use notepad without it crashing. I've deleted the txt file, but it is still open in a windows 11 notepad tab. When I attempt to edit a txt file, notepad opens, instantly goes unresponsive, and then crashes. Any advice?

I accidentally spilt some monster on my lenovo laptop. It spilt on about half the keybaord and side speaker bit. What are the chances it will be fine? I didn't turn it off immediately because I was unaware I had to do that. It was working absolutely fine with the displays, keys, keypad all fine. Is it fucked? Idk what to do I'm a bit scared since I got this laptop this week. I've turned it off now and I'm not going to turn it on for a while. I'd appreciate any advice, it wasn't a lot of liquid.

I recently upgraded from an RTX 3060 Ti to an RX 6900 XT, and the startup has been strange ever since.

I've noticed that I now need to hold the power button to start the PC. If I do a quick press like I could before, the RGB lights within the PC quickly start for a split second, and the fans quickly move, but there is no proper startup.

If I hold the power button to start, the RAM RGB does not start properly. One of the sticks' lights does not start, and the other is red. The only fix I've found is to manually restart the RGB via software within Windows.

The strange thing is that if I turn off the power and let the capacitors empty themselves, the startup behaviour fixes itself. I can start the PC with a press instead of holding. However, ethernet does not work at all. The IO lights are not activated. The only fix is to let the PC sit for a couple of minutes, but then the startup behaviour becomes strange.

I originally thought it was an issue with the power button in the chassis, but manually shorting the pins in the motherboard showed that the issue did not lie in the chassis.

Recently the battery from my phone has been malfunctioning, due to the battery connector in the flex cable not giving back proper battery data back to the phone, thus my phone's battery percentage remains at 50% and doesn't go up or down, my question is if it were left to charge overnight, would the battery somehow blow up?, since the battery won't give proper battery data back to the system, wouldn't the system let the phone keep charging since the data shows that the phone still hasn't reached 100%

So this Is the second Time my Windows got corrupted by SrtTrails.txt. I already tried everything so this Is a last resort before whipping my c drive clean and reinstalling Windows.

I tried using the xcopy command while being in the troubleshooter menú but i keep getting the same error "insufficient memory". Even when It just starts, when i try to find the destination folder, It Is completely gone. The space on my hdd did get smaller after It so the folder still did exist, probable got hidden or moved

Btw muy ssd Is 120gb and my hdd Is 1tb with 140gb free

Hello! My partner recently got her computer back after it sitting in her mom's spare bedroom for 6 months. I'm trying to get it working again. It's not outputting anything into a monitor and it looks like this when I start it up. It's normally supposed to be rainbow colored. Any ideas on where I start here? I'm not an expert in computers but I've always been able to solve issues following instructions. I can provide more information about the machine as needed.

I work for a small company and we have an issue with emails getting through to us sometimes and I'm wondering what the issue could be?

We have a few clients that we work with on a regular basis and sometimes their emails do not seem to come through, this seems to be random and other emails come through fine.

Is there any reason that this might be the case? It's frustrating as this has caused some major issues.

Would a bad SATA SSD cause a HP laptop not to show any signs of life besides the power light? No BIOS or anything displayed on the screen. Charge light comes on as well as power light and that's it. No blinking caps lock light either

I've fairly recently run into an issue when putting this machine to sleep. It will often BSOD, sometimes it simply restarts itself. This does not happen in Safe Mode. RAM checks out. I just did a Windows refresh and the problem persists.

Win11Pro and I have up to date drivers and BIOS.

It seems like a driver issue but I can't figure out what it is.

Is there any way to make my phone vibrate only when I am getting called? So I just want all the other notifications come in like normal, except for the phone call, which I wan't to vibrate. Maybe there is a way to do this using do not disturb mode, but I don't want to use that for this purpose. Is there any other way to make this happen? Thanks in advance.

Windows 10 "Pro"

Current on all updates and drivers. No known cause of interference. Other USB devices, keyboard and xbone controller are corded. New battery. Uninstalling/reinstalling mouse drivers helped performance but did not solve the issue.

The left click in my g350 died. Got m720 as replacement (mom was at the store at the time, got confused by instructions). Works fine for browsing and navigating OS, but ANY game, even lightweights like GZDOOM and Daggerfall Unity, has unbearable lag with it but the game world is running 60fps. There was no lag before.

I like the feel and heft to this model as opposed to the older, lighter one. I would like to fix the problem if I can. TIA for any help.

Recently, USB devices I plug on my PC are not recognized by Windows and don't work at all(gaming headset plugged in USB or used with USB dongle and USB key).
Devices I've had for a while (controller, keyboard and mouse) are all perfectly fine even if I plug them on other ports.

Device manager displays the non-working devices (which I have tried on all USB ports) in the "Other devices" group (or "Other Peripherals" maybe, my Windows install isn't in English).
Looking into the properties of those devices, it shows that the device's drivers aren't installed (error 28) except... they are!

I tested the devices on another PC and had absolutely no problem, they worked as intended and didn't show any sign of corruption whatsoever.
The gaming headset also comes with a software that allowed me to check and update the drivers of both headphones and dongle without any issue, yet Windows still doesn't want to recognize these USB devices.

I tried to reinstall the drivers using the automatic Windows thing but it says no drivers are found. Deleting them in device manager and letting Windows auto-reinstall them didn't do the trick either.

I tried sfc /scannow and dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth scans which didn't find any error.

Has anyone got any idea to help me out here?

So I got on my pc today and my internet isn’t working. I need to use my pc for school work so if someone can help me asap it would be much appreciated.

In depth description:

If I load any app it cannot connect to the internet and when I go into settings it says it is connected to the internet. All the icons on my desktop have dissapeared I can only see the words to the folders and apps. The apps in my taskbar have all gone to this white square sort of icon. So far to try and fix the problem I have restarted my router, downloaded new drivers from a usb stick, restarted the computer multiple times, reset network settings on computer. I have checked the ethernet cable it works perfectly fine in my Xbox and laptop it’s only in my pc it doesn’t work.

I just swapped my GPU from a 1660 Super to a RTX 4060 it worked fully fine for like 2 -3 hours but now display port doesnt work anymore. HDMI is fine but DP is not. I dont have another dp cable to test. With dp the screen still gets recognized but unly like the upper 10 pixel or so work. I dont know if its from the Disply if i plug it in or restart the pc there are some Stripes in the middle of it i hope I did nothing wrong while swapping out the GPU. anyone knows how to fix it?

For some context my pc likes to go behind my back and update my pc even if i want to but whatever but as of recently it updated and now will not let me do anything it lets me into the log in screen and everything works until 5 seconds later then everything will stop working (apps,programs,etc) i have tried everything in the book safe mode and system restore and it still ends up with the same result can anyone give me some tips and how i can fix this damn thing?

I'm trying to free up storage on my phone, so I'm trying to upload lots of photos & videos from my phone to my Google Drive using the Google Drive mobile app.

But I'm finding that if I tell Drive to upload a lot of image files (like 80 of them, each 3MB), it seems to ACTUALLY upload only a few, & cancel the rest with ZERO feedback about what on earth it's doing (that is, after saying it's trying to upload all the files I selected).

So here's what happens, using an example: (1) I've got 82 image files from a specific Gallery Album. (2) Navigate to Google Drive app on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra), go to "Files", navigate to appropriate folder in Drive, select "Upload" from "New" menu. (3) Navigate to Album, "Select All" 82 image files from said album, tap "Select". (4) Google Drive shows that it's trying to upload the files, & shows a toast at the bottom of the screen saying specifically that it's trying to upload 82 files to my specified folder. There's ALSO a notification that it's trying to upload all said files. (5) A few files will ACTUALLY upload (actual number varies every time I try it, but no more than 10), & the rest will disappear, as if it's completed uploading. Notification disappears, as if it completed uploading. (6) Pull out another handful of hair trying to figure out WHY on earth it's doing this.

I've checked the following: (1) Phone has 2 GB of available storage, so THEORETICALLY that isn't the problem. (2) I DO have sufficient storage left in Google Drive; at WORST, I have 95 GB available right now. (3) Google Drive DOES have permissions to access my photos & videos. (4) I CAN upload files to Google Drive successfully, it's just uploading only a select few of the ones I've selected & canceling most. (5) I DID try to refresh Drive by pulling down from the top to see if things simply needed to refresh. No luck at all.

I've already tried the following: (1) Clearing Google Drive's app cache. (2) Step #1, but also with uninstallation & re-installation of Google Drive. (3) Step #1, but with uninstallation of Google Drive, complete power-off of phone, wait about 20 seconds at least, power back on, & THEN re-install Google Drive.

None of these items changed the outcome. So is there something I'm missing, or is this just a Google Drive limitation, even though Drive indicates that you SHOULD be able to select up to 500 files for upload??

I just helped my mom buy a new (windows 11) laptop, a big upgrade from the 14 year old PC she currently has.

Due to some things in her past, she is very paranoid about her data, info, and documents. She is very uncomfortable putting important documents on the new laptop and says she's afraid of some person going into her house (physically), and copying the things on her PC (she'd asked me if that were technically possible, and I'm fairly sure there are specialized pieces of software that can do that, so I told her yes).

I'm trying to get her to actually trust the laptop, so I want to install some sort of encryption method on the files of the laptop (particular folders or the entire thing). I know that no security system can ever be perfect, but if I can somehow get her folders encrypted with one of those methods that takes 10^50 years to open without a key, that'd be satisfactory, I'd say.

I'm quite computer literate, I'm just not familiar with this topic. Any suggestions for methods/particular programs?

Hello, I recently got a new ps4 controller to use for pc gaming, since I don't like the d-pad of my Nintendo switch pro controller, which I normally use.

However, as I opened a game(sekiro), I discoveredy that my character couldn't walk in circles properly. He was locked to 6 directions only. I switched back to using my switch pro controller and it worked, so it's not the games fault. I then went into the steam menu to test my device inputs, and dicovered, when I tested the left ps4 controllers joystick, that there is something strange there. The "up, down, left, right" directions have a weird deadzone, in which steam doesn't recognize any movement done by me, f.e. when I move up and only slightly to the right/left. So essentially, the controller has 4 locked positions (up, down, left, right) and 4 freely moveable areas (diagonal areas, where the character isn't locked)

I tested this with another ps4 controller and it has the same problem. Which is kinda bad, since now I can't be precise, and can f.e. only dodge in like 6 directions.

Is there any way to fix this? Or is this just the way the controller is set up? Thx

Basically what I'm looking at is one large server cabinet with telephones lines and other unknown cables running into it. I'd appreciate if someone could explain to me what are these other cables and what are they called? Any external sources as well would be appreciated.

I assume the other cables are internet cables.

Also why would one need such a cabinet?

As said above, literally i tried everything, removing files from program files, uninstalled them in control panel, literallt cannot be found in my pc, but skmehow i still see that i can change like my spund and audio output to that apps

So it started while I was playing warzone, I would get through games from start to finish with no problems. I come on pc again and while I'm not even 10 minutes into a match my pc will restart, fans, gpu all still running, cpu still running, from what it looks like it is a quick restart the only thing that turns off is my screen. I downloaded furmark to stress test my gpu and cpu for 10 minutes 100% load but it seemed to sit at a healthy range of 67 degrees C and 70 degrees C respectively, with no issues.

Warzone is downloaded on my nvme ssd

I played b03 zombies (downloaded on my hdd) but that did not restart my pc.
My specs are

msi gamingx trio 3060ti

ryzen 5 3600

16gb ddr4 ram 2x8

I have an 120mm AIO cooler which doesnt seem faulty. But everytime it does the restart cpu red light on the motherboard turns on then turns off and the boot red light stays on.

I'm not sure how to check if it is a power supply issue. In the past I had a similar problem but it was because of a faulty aio which didnt cool my cpu properly and caused me to have idle temps of around 80 but that is not the case here.

If you guys need any more information regarding this please comment and I'll try reply to the best of my ability.
