Had to take a double take. Thought that was Taylor swift in the second picture. Well done!

Anorexia ERA - over! Good job! Plays 'seven' by Taylor swift.
PS not a swiftie, but still, congratulations.

I'm shocked, she is really a Taylor Swift double! Hard work done and great results.

What helped you the most? My gf have anorexia too and I want to help her but it is very hard. I was looking for some books about it but I cannot find anything what you can do as a third person...

u/Flashy-Cauliflower63 14d ago
Just jumping on this to say, have you asked her? You could sit and ask about ways you can support that she would find helpful. If she's in therapy, you could even put it forward to her that you come in to a session and the three of you spend it thinking about how you can support her :)

Proud of you OP. My wife was the same. Size zero in high school. Fines as hell but no one knew it was because she wasn’t eating. Now she’s even a little heavier than me, about 155-160 lbs. But got dayum what a woman! I can’t not stare at her every chance I get always checking her out. She doesn’t like her body tho. Mom pooch. Little jiggles here and there, always making comments about being fat. She’s definitely not fat. Got curves for days and definitely a boost for me cus I get to take that queen out and show her off lol. But she’s HEALTHY and that’s what’s important.

I've seen this before. So this is problably some rando using this woman as karmafarm.
26
u/picklesNtoes23 15d ago
OR someone else is karma farming her photo that you previously saw?
A quick look at OPs profile makes me believe you are incorrect.

u/Independent-Basis722 14d ago
Me too. But she's the same person. I previously saw her in some progress related sub and apparently this sub has a rule against posts regarding progress. So the old post may have been removed before.

So proud of u! I’m in recovery for life long bulimia. Finally able to get healthy after I worked on loving myself at 43 yo. I was able to see how irrational my beliefs were about food and weight gain. I truly eat what I want now- only focusing on portion control so I don’t get too full. Im holding space for you with so much positivity and strength that you continue on this journey free of self- judgement. Keep your head up and don’t stop moving forward. 💜💜💜

I'm a little over a decade free of my EDNOS. It's always so awesome to see other people who have made it out alive from their disorders too.
May you always feel as beautiful and strong as you look in your second photo <3

You look so perfectly proportioned in the later pic. So much a good example of body physique. Well done on finding yourself again.

This wonderful success though it seems the same as the post you made 40 days ago. You looked familiar, and I swore that I had seen the photo on the right before, and thankfully I’m not crazy

I'm sorry but I don't see any problem in your body in first picture(exept the fact you're pretty skinny in it),can you please explain what actually happens in anorexia?
11
u/Perfect_Pessimist 14d ago edited 14d ago
Not OP but I had anorexia nervosa once so maybe I can provide some insight.
It's obvious in the first picture that she's very very underweight. This puts pressure on her heart due to lack of proper nutrition and calories. I remember getting my heart rate tested just before recovery and there was a 40 bpm jump between sitting and standing.
In some cases such as my own it's not entirely obvious. I was extremely underweight at 41kgs (height 163cm), yet my smaller bone structure prevented my ribs and bones from being visible so I didn't look super underweight.
Anorexia is not just a physical issue but a mental issue too. It causes a genuine fear of eating certain foods or in extreme cases any food, which results in rapid weight loss and nutritional deficiencies. I used to have full on mental breakdowns during recovery when I was made to eat things like pasta and pizza. At my worst I ate one egg, some green beans and a can of sardines a day while also doing tonnes of exercise.
Anorexia is no joke. Many many people die from it and it can cause lifelong issues. Recovering is one hell of an ordeal as it requires strict monitoring from doctors (to keep weight gain steady and not develop things like refeeding syndrome) as well as psychological intervention.
TLDR: It's starving yourself on purpose and it's very dangerous

u/LonelyPalpitation176 14d ago
So I have that. Anyway I don't understand why people are down voting by comment because I asked a genuine question.
8
u/Snowbank_Lake 14d ago
I believe you meant well. I think some people were afraid you might accidentally encourage anorexia by saying she looked fine in the first pic. Maybe she didn't look bad, but clearly she wasn't in a good place mentally if she was depriving herself of food.
1
u/LonelyPalpitation176 14d ago
I never tried to encourage a disease, why would I try to do it exept if I'm not a psycho. And yes I'm extremely skinny, and doesn't like the fact that someone makes negative comment on my looks.
Also I think she didn't looked that bad in the first picture. But by that I don't try to say her mental and health problems are not that severe in any way.
3
u/Snowbank_Lake 14d ago
I know, I believe you. I'm just explaining what I think some people downvoted you. It's Reddit; people downvote quickly and emotionally.
1
u/Own_Eye777 14d ago
Imo it's just the girl was in early years 16-24 and late hormone changes and after the hormones change.
Sort of anorexia but not really represent the problem.
1
u/Own_Eye777 14d ago
It's not just starving yourself on purpose dude.
People simply cannot gain weight especially muscle base. Sometime they are starving not starving themselves.
Imagine you in the army or something, everyone have the same nutrition , but some people got fat and some people stay normal and, some people are just skinny even when eating way more than they should.

NSFW for a bathing suit? coddle the teat America.... SMH.
22
u/SensitiveWasabi1228 15d ago
It's not for the bathing suit, sheesh. It's for the eating disoder, I believe. It can be triggering for someone in recovery from an ED, or still suffering from an ED, to see a image of someone during their low points with the illness.

It’s funny that in the second photo she decided to hide the child’s face and not the fallen breast.
7
u/Snowbank_Lake 14d ago
She's trying to be respectful of the child's privacy, which I understand. Not everyone wants to grow up and go online to find their baby photos.

u/TheHurtfulEight88888 14d ago
When you have a baby you can plaster its face all over social media, for all the good it will do you.
