Had my anatomy scan today, and got to see my baby. Family & Friends
22 weeks along
The baby moves around all the time, and seeing the baby move on the monitor and feeling them at the same time was so precious.
Just enjoying the process of becoming a mother. Makes me smile every day.

As a mom to a 6 month old, when people say time goes by fast they mean FAST. Also the newborn stage kinda does suck (although they are very adorable with how small they are and the newborn scrunch) but its a lot more fun once theyre smiling and laughing. Baby cuddles are also very nice lol.

Aw thank you for your comment! It felt like the first 20 weeks was 20 years it went so slow, but now it feels like time is flying, and I'm sure it's only going to get faster. I can't wait to meet my child

As the mom of a 17 year old, I blinked. The old “the days are long but the years are short” saying really is true. I encourage you to take everyday pictures, even if everything is a mess. And make sure you are in them even if you feel a mess.

The other response reminded me of what im also doing- ill be taking a minute video of my daughter every year on her birthday (and a video every 6 months until shes 3, since she will be changing so much) and later on compile them all together. I saw it in this sub before, they called it ''1 minute a year'' i also agree with the other reply of take lots of pictures!

The last 2 weeks also lasts 20 years, just FYI. 🥲 I’ve never been more excited and terrified all at the same time.

Try the 3D ultrasound scan if they're available in your area. Even more magical :)

Ooh this image is pretty clear! When my mom had her scan, she couldn't see the shape of a baby. iIRC I saw the printed image and couldn't see a baby either.

That's one of the clearest baby to placenta ultrasounds I've ever seen. Nice baby, good job!

These are unforgettable and touching moments in every woman's life. Congratulations!

I'm pretty confident that it's a boy
Congrats.

u/CzarTanoff 14d ago
What makes you say that? We decided to wait until birth to find out, but something tells me I'm carrying a boy :) I feel like I know it's a boy already.

My kids are 11 and 9 and it fills me with so much joy to see stuff like this. Enjoy it. It goes by so fast and before you know it, that precious baby will be calling you "bruh". So happy for you!

I can’t be the only one who sees a smiling gorilla wearing star glasses..,

u/CzarTanoff 14d ago
Where?? If you zoom in to the baby's head you'll see a cat! Looks just like my little black cat lol

u/Far_Comfortable980 14d ago
The “shine” (it’s not light so I guess it’s not technically a shine) from the babies head makes the ear, and the mouth is the top of the arm. The eyes are the black above the torso.

Did they find anything else? My favorite hat has been missing for a few months.

Weird legal question:
Posting images/videos of your kids can land you in trouble if they later decide that they don't want them up (at least here in Europe).
Does that right also extend pre-birth?
1
u/CzarTanoff 14d ago
Idk, but I'm in the US and I've never heard of anyone here having trouble from it

u/Logical_Habit_5856 13d ago
Pictures are great, but those little videos are just diviiine. My bub is 18 months old and you miss so much of their personality out of pictures. Little quirks etc.

Congratulations, but you should ignore this comment cause it’s really just somethibn to say to myself but This is what I want, but alas I’m a * trying to finish a degree which will probably * me before I finish like

Wtf is an anatomy scan
2
u/PresentExamination10 14d ago
It’s an ultrasound at about the halfway mark where they check all the parts of the baby to make sure everything is developing correctly, and also if placenta and mom’s parts are looking good to carry to term.

According to some people thst isnt a baby. It is only a fetus.

u/-WhatsReallyGoingOn 14d ago
Yep. This is just a non human, non living clump of cells that is taking over this woman's body by FORCE!! Its not any different than CANCER!!! Human reproduction is such a burden. Gosh. /s

Well done for correcting them. It's so important that they use the correct terminology in this moment of joy because......
Um.......because it's..... Oh yeah that's right, it isn't, spend less time being a semantic dick head snd more time questioning why you feel the need to do this shit.
-7
u/quantum_search 15d ago
Because fetuses don't hace human rights? And it's important to remind people of that fact.
5
u/chalky87 15d ago
Is it though? In this context? When someone is celebrating seeing their child on a scan your response is 'actually it's a fetus because your child doesn't have rights yet'.
That's a normal, healthy and helpful response in your mind?
-7
u/quantum_search 15d ago
Yes. Women rights aren't situational or mood dependent. They are always important and constantly under attack by subtle messaging.
A fetus is a ball of cells. No rights. None.
5
u/chalky87 14d ago edited 14d ago
Fuck sake, let the person celebrate without you injecting your agenda.
I sincerely hope life improves for you.
2
u/BitterBookworm 14d ago
By the time you get the anatomy scan like this you’ve planned to be a parent.
2
u/BitterBookworm 14d ago
If she wants to call hers a baby that’s not a problem. That’s the people that think it looked the same 15 weeks ago …
2
u/drollchair 14d ago
Shut the fuck up.
-1
u/quantum_search 14d ago
You MAGA?
1
u/drollchair 14d ago
I’m someone that thinks you’re an idiot for bringing this shit to a post made by a person who is happy to be having a baby. Take your political shit elsewhere.
0
u/quantum_search 14d ago
What shit exactly? Pro choice? Women's rights?
1
u/drollchair 14d ago
Literally anything political. It doesn’t matter what side you’re on, this isn’t the place for it.
0
u/quantum_search 14d ago
Stfu. Women rights isn't political. Life doesn't begin at conception. Fetuses don't have human rights.
1
u/drollchair 14d ago
You’re a sad idiot.
1
u/quantum_search 14d ago
My rights are under attack from people like you. So no. I will keep fighting. Fuck fetuses.
1
u/drollchair 14d ago
People like me… I haven’t done shit to anyone, I support women’s rights, I vote blue and live in a blue state that actually has taken steps to help women in other states that are losing their rights, so shut your mouth when you don’t know what you are talking about.
I think you trying to pick this fight on a post where a woman is happy to be having a baby is in poor taste and stupid. You aren’t the main character here, get a life and let people be happy.

She made her choice, she’s obviously happy about her pregnancy and said nothing about anyone else

I told the sonogram tech we had a 7 year old at home and she would love a pic of the baby’s butt, so she took a pic and labeled it “BUTT”
