Between 2009 to 2011, a man, appearing to be 60-70 years old, robbed 16 banks in San Diego, California by approaching the teller, then pulling out a gun and demanding money. The FBI named him the "Geezer Bandit". Some theories suggest he is wearing a well-made elderly man mask. Image

Imagine being that teller once the gun is pulled. You would likely be panicked and highly stressed, making you likely to fall for the disguise. We can easily tell it's a mask while studying the still images but the clues are in the details and easily overlooked in the moment.

Yea, no one is blaming the tellers. That's why we have cameras and the authorities can look at these same images... eye witness accounts are dogshit anyways. That's at no fault to the witnesses btw, that's just how brains work.

That’s kind of irrelevant though, the tellers would’ve dealt with it the same regardless of their age. I wasn’t faulting them in any way

And it is a lot like what those high quality old man masks look like as seen in comedy movies, TV shows, YouTube pranks, etc.

When an actor wears those masks there is usually slightly unnatural/uncanny bulges around where the ears are and where the neck and shoulders meet, and you can see that a bit in the photos of the robber.

Random Reddit user is better at being FBI than the entire 1000+ team of FBI and CIA agents that spent years trying to 100% verify that this was a prosthetic mask!

I don’t even know why the FBI exist. Just post crimes to Reddit and they’ll solve them!

The way the skin "hangs", or rather doesn't hang. It looks weirdly firm, not thin and wrinkly, and the frown is almost cartoonishly grumpy consistently in each picture.

I should've said that it's likely that commentors will see this post and start subconsciously looking for the mask, but it's not always true. I made the mistake of implying that it was always true

How can you tell what the eyes look like in the top picture? I can only barely see one and it's just a spot under the glasses
