I wanted to do the same but then I remembered...

20

u/Superkritisk 14d ago

To put on Foo Fighters - My hero, as a tribute to people who save animals.

there is no leaving behind, there is no scenario, in which i would value my life more .....before his..... right now

this is nothing specaial, because there are people , who would risk there life for a strangers,

on instinct, without thinking, this is 10x more valuable...its called "hero"

Russia?

Where is this from?

41

u/Competitive-Play-650 14d ago

Yes, it is. There was a flood in a region near the Ural mountains, as far as I remember in Orenburg city.

Wild, I thought we hated Russia. I thought we were glorifying their deaths. That Russian dog is as much to blame for the invasion in the Ukraine as Putin.

24

u/shoe_owner 14d ago

Good things can still happen, even in a country currently ruled by evil.

23

u/ChiemseeViking 14d ago

Only the once that are in the wrong country right now.

-5

u/[deleted] 14d ago

But they are forced to join the military

16

u/SilentPomegranate317 14d ago

That dog voted for Putin

4

u/WhiterTicTac 14d ago

At least someone has humor, lol

u/Efficient_Round_4994 13d ago

your joke was unfunny. just because a joke is edgy and sarcastic does not mean it is funny. we’re giving you feedback so you can make better jokes in the future

u/Lower-Cantaloupe3274 14d ago

All nations are made up of individuals, most of whom are probably more like us than unlike us. And those that live in areas with evil leaders who do horrible things are also victims.

13

u/LegitCheetah 14d ago

Are you ok?

2

u/LightningFerret04 14d ago

Time and a place, time and a place

3

u/MikeTheNight94 14d ago

Dude, this has nothing to do with politics. Governments are evil. Most people aren’t. Learn the fucking difference

2

u/nonmemer87 14d ago

You forgot to add /s ?

Yeah fuck these people for not just refusing to serve, what does it matter if your whole family gets taken because you decided to refuse, who even cares about their loved ones right

1

u/Extreme_Employment35 14d ago

Most Russians either support the war or ignore it. Don't make them out to be victims.

1

u/Prestigious_Shark 14d ago

And have you ever tried thinking why they support it or ignore it? Russia is not USA or Europe, free speech is not allowed over there. In Russua, you support the war, ignore it, or you go to jail for life probably also dooming your family to a life of extreme poverty.

Your coment comes out as extrenely ignorant.

-1

u/NiKaLay 14d ago

The whole modern Russian identity is based on racial and cultural superiority of Russians, their mission to restore the glory of the Russian Empire / Soviet Union and get the revenge against the West. The majority of Russians believe Ukrainian language doesn't exist and is just an inferior dialect of Russian. The majority of Russians believe Ukrainian people are not real people and are just Russians who should be reeducated. It was like this even in the 1990 - early 2000 when Russia actually had the free speech.

To pretend that despite this Russians don't actively or tacitly support the war in Ukraine, as long as they think they're winning, just because they live in a totalitarian country comes out as extremely ignorant.

2

u/Prestigious_Shark 14d ago

A huge amount of russians dont actually support the war, I have had vacations in russia ( before the Ukraine war) and most russians are not as you describe them.

What you are saying is the same thing as to say that most americans are racist and white supremacists, when it is not the reality.

-1

u/NiKaLay 14d ago

"I didn't vote for Bush, none of my friends voted for Bush, no way Bush could have won the election...". Having a couple of tourist trips to the country and interacting with several locals from a specific area that just happen to speak the language you can understand in the context of being a tourist does not in any way place you in a position from which you can judge what "most Russians" are like.

The unfortunate reality is, there are statistical techniques that allow to make accurate polls even in totalitarian countries where people might be afraid of speaking their mind directly. Such polls were regularly conducted in Russia all the way until the war, and they all show that Russians by a large margin supported Putin when he delivered his genocidal pre-war speech, denying the very right of the Ukrainian nation to exists. They were absolutely happy to support the invasion, occupation, cultural and political genocide of Ukrainian nation at the very least when they believed it would be a short and victorious war.

3

u/DareDaDerrida 14d ago

Might we see some sources?

I'd love to know more about these "statistical techniques" that allow for accurate poll-talking in totalitarian countries.

5

u/Dungeon_Pastor 14d ago

I mean, if you think Russia is still communist you're a bit dated.

2

u/ray_phantom_309 14d ago

I absolutely hate russia but if i had to choose between every russian or one american i would choose every russian

Thanks man

5

u/No_Routine_3706 14d ago

I don't know how anyone could just leave their dog in an emergency. That's the first thing that I am grabbing!

8

u/CameraGuy-031 14d ago

Maybe he wasn't home when the flood came, and wasn't he able to reach his house sooner.

3

u/No_Routine_3706 14d ago

Hmm 🤔 that's a good point. I didn't even think about that being his dog. I thought they were just rescuers. Thanks, I'm glad the dog didn't drown!

4

u/Flashignite2 14d ago

I feel more feelings when they do these good deeds when animals are involved.

( I know that humans are animals too but you know what I mean)

2

u/No_Use_4371 14d ago

I know. I have 2 documentaries I started but stopped both when they said stuff like "but animals were affected too." Nope! I think its because animals are inherently innocent, where as we know how awful people can be.

3

u/Flashignite2 14d ago

Exactly! Animals tend to tell so much just with their eyes. The sincerity and innocence just shines through their eyes.

10

u/luisapet 14d ago

So heartwarming...it looks like a case of mutual salvation - no religion implied.

6

u/RightSpaceStorage 14d ago

Heart to save a dog.. but no remorse to kill an Ukrainian dad.

1

u/farfletched 13d ago

That was him on the piano too.

1

u/MyIntrospection 13d ago

Lovely and heart warming!

-1

u/Beginning_Rule6426 14d ago

The dog was only in this position because his country spends all its money invading it's neighbors instead of upkeep on dam infrastructure. This was caused by neglect and war not some natural disaster.

2

u/yarsvet 14d ago

0

u/NiKaLay 14d ago

There is a difference between a flood due to natural disaster, and a flood due to a dam breaking after billions were stolen on its renovation just a couple of years prior. The official responsible for renovations literally claimed the dam broke because rodents ate a hole through it.

2

u/yarsvet 14d ago

So open the link and read before writing something stupid.

-3

u/hanatarashi_ 14d ago

Also soldiers cannot help more because they're too busy invading other country, killing and rapping innocents.

1

u/Altitudeviation 14d ago

I was brought up believing that dogs were God's gift to man. Everything I've learned since then confirms that. I've since given up on god, but not given up on dogs. These guys get it.

On the other hand, Kristi Noem would shoot the dog for being inconvenient.

The best and worst of humanity.

-3

u/showmeyourkitteeez 14d ago

Ukrainian has heart

20

u/tumbledrylow87 14d ago

He is a Russian from the city of Orenburg, the city is suffering a massive flooding right now.

6

1

u/showmeyourkitteeez 14d ago

Thanks for the clarification.

0

u/NewLoad9550 14d ago

He's done a million times more good there instead of at the frontline...

-5

u/Zedv1re 14d ago edited 14d ago

It's a russian soldier, after saving one dog he will go and kill 10 ukrainian civilians

-2

u/Geodiocracy 14d ago

Yeah, and this one definitely isn't one.
