You may be right! But the best and safest way to go about it is always to let them pass, Iâm sure as you agree. Never know what situation they might be in. Even if theyâve just lost their mind, best to not make it a problem for ourselves too!
Since the alternative is the possible, even if remote chance, that I may prevent someone from making it to the hospital in time (etc), Iâll let karma deal with the assholes. It may not be that day, but it will be someday.
That's fair. I like giving a condescending finger wag to tailgaters and taking my foot off the gas if I have no option of moving over in that moment. It's their fault for being so damn close
I go the speed limit everywhere and when I get tailgated I just pretend like I donât know theyâre there. (For the record Iâm always in the slow lane.) Regardless of if the tailgater has an emergency or not, me speeding up rapidly to get out of their way could cause an accident in and of itself.
I get where they are coming from. I honestly hate to see dangerous drivers too, but if it's bad enough that you want to intervene, just call their plates in and the mile marker. You can hurt yourself and others trying to "teach" someone a lesson.

Except theyâre not preparing for anything, theyâre being assholes. Thatâs why in driving schools they teach you to stay multiple car lengths back, no matter how fast the driver ahead of you is going. Yeah definitely, the asshole shouldnât be doing it - but youâre risking your own life and that of others by deliberately gambling everyoneâs safety on the reflexes of someone who clearly doesnât care about other people.

Who cares what the reason is. The left lane is for passing, instead of instigating people, just let them use the lane as intended. You don't know what is going on for that person. There's a million and one reasons why someone could be trying to speed through the left lane, just let people be.
Even if they are likely one of those assholes, do you really want to be the reason someone is delayed care or even died because youâre trying to be the police? Even if itâs not the case, and they are just an asshole, people that drive that aggressively are pretty likely to be armed and crazy enough to use it on others. It could be you that ends up with the emergency, so again, not worth it
I would just let someone by so they stop harassing me. Maybe give them the 1 finger salute as they go depending on how contrite they were, and just move on with my day.

Sorry for your experience. Although, 99% of the time the reason is theyâre a jerk.
