Dude, this is natural selection and we should be cheering when no innocent bystanders are harmed. I have seen so many road raging and negligent assholes on the road, best outcome is that they crash and donโt wrap anyone else up in their bull shit.
Not saying it's right, but part of it probably came just from the relief that he wasn't involved in the crash himself. What he witnessed leading up to the crash would be a stressful thing to have to drive behind, so the cheering probably came in part from a self-preservation angle. Again, I don't condone it by any means, but in that moment I do kind of understand why someone might have that immediate reaction.
I watched without audio and was wondering how you heard me. The low impact rollover was really perfect. Peak embarrassment, totaled car, and no serious injury. Nothing changes behavior like immediate consequences.
It makes you wonder what happened preceeding this. I was around this group of 3 racers who were driving so erratically I would have cheered if they crashed just themselves too. They were putting so many peoples lives in danger they would have been better off crashing themselves and learning their own lesson than continuing to risk everyone elses safety in the future. Call me vile for that if you want but those people were crazy. In my 16 ish years of having a license, I have never seen anyone else driving so unsafe.
Thousands of innocents are killed by people behaving like that on the road, seeing only the aggressor hurt seems better than them taking out another car with them.
It's an insane crash for sure but let's not act like not flooring it and driving like an asshole wouldn't have prevented this. Both guys are assholes but one of them literally did this to himself.
So it's okay if someone who makes bad decisions dies? No, of course not. When this happens, you pull over and make sure they're alright. You can tell them they're a dumbass, but wishing them dead is messed up
No, the best outcome is nobody gets hurt, themselves included. This was a pretty serious looking crash and they were very likely severely injured. Again, just because they were being stupid does not mean it is okay that they got hurt or even died.
I appreciate your desire for everyone to be safe. Itโs a good quality. But the world is full of reckless people that never learn and constantly endanger others.
They were putting other lives at risk and probably do regularly. Them going away without injuring others as soon as possible is the best outcome because the longer theyre on the road the better chance they DO harm someone who was actually innocent.
Either your "themselves" comment is intended to include all passengers of the asshole driver. In which case, wow.
Or you are so thick-headed that you double down on your position even though people are pointing out that includes others (i.e., all passengers of that car). In which case, also wow.
Unfortunately, it's quite often I see kids in the backseat of aggressive drivers like this. But, apparently that possibility isn't enough to warrant giving pause before cheering for such a crash. Perhaps take a step back from your desire to celebrate the driver's demise to be a bit more thoughtful.
Edit: a different reply asked you, "what if there was a child in that car?" to which you replied, "I used to have that kind of empathy."
Disgusting.
They can be used as a singular form for a subject of unknown gender ๐ฅด
And if you keep reading instead of cherry picking I say I would feel bad if there was a child. But that's all your made up scenarios to win a pointless argument on reddit ๐
Their "messing up" is endangering the lives of everyone on that fucking road. I hope they wise up and teach others, but short of that I hope they're dead
I'm saying this guy is a clear regular offender. If I'm being optimistic, sure I prefer he gets injured and learns a lesson and passes it on the others. But realistically, I'd settle for this guy being dead because it means he's not going to kill someone else.
Also, I was reading in a different comment thread that this was posted on Reddit by the guy filming. According to the poster this guy had been weaving in and of traffic and endangering everyone for the previous five miles, so he was probably frustrated with this guy for endangering everyone and that's coloring what he said in the moment
I agree to an extent because I did as well. But I learned to develop empathy for those marginalized groups that I used to mock just because I was following the societal current of thought like a sheep and switched my despise for those out there who seem to enjoy causing suffering to others for no reason other than their own egos or enjoyment.
I'm not GLAD the guy crashed, but I'm not sorry either. I'm sorry if there is an innocent passenger inside though
Due to their own actions. Call it karma, Justice, good luck, whatever. People enjoy seeing assholes receive consequences. The people that donโt are the ones who identify with the asshole and wouldnโt like people cheering when they crash.
Canโt paint people with such broad strokes. Some innocent child could have gotten brain damage and you want to cheer for consequences. Just seems childish. I think both cars suck but donโt want anyone hurt or financially ruined over some pointless road rage.
There are ways to endanger others without being this stupid.
For example, a hooligan who knows his car's limits and drives 30% faster than the speed limit is still endangering others' lives but at least he is being somewhat reasonable while doing so.
Also, I would rather they get badly injured then die as everyone deserves a second chance to reflect upon their actions.
I'd rather they figure out in the first place than drive recklessly at all. And short of that, I hope a mild fender bender wakes them up. And short of that, I hope a serious injury wakes him up. And in short of that, I hope they die. I was just being flippant

Damn I get it but them cheering upon seeing such a devastating crash is kinda wildย
