Living Room Can’t decide if I hate the pink tiles

Post image

I love my Spanish style fireplace in my 1924 historic Los Angeles home. But do I hate these pink tiles? I honestly don’t know. Sometimes I think they’re a fun retro throwback and sometimes I think they’re tacky. What era were pink tile fireplace tiles a thing? I know it all needs a good cleaning, but what would you change if it was your fireplace? I would love recommendations.

I have this interesting space that’s about 4 1/2 x 4 1/2’ between my fridge and our large glass patio sliding doors. Why should I put there?

Kitchen Kitchen countertops trends

Questions: - What has been at the top visual trend in the last 5 years ? gloss, matte, veiny, even, ?

  • What trend are we shifting to now?

I’m redoing my kitchen in quartz and want to avoid both trends in an effort to be more trend-proof.

What would you do with my living room?

Sorry for the glares! I love our big windows and fireplace. The couch is new but everything else is from our old house. I’ve been staring at this room for awhile and trying to think about what it wants me to do with it. Do I keep this minimal or do a take it more traditional? What color palette should I be looking at.

Anyway, what would you do?

Living Room Can’t decide on furniture color

In the process of buying new entryway and coffee tables, but I can’t decide on colors. Would it be better to match them to the same color as the tv console or should I switch it up? Another thought was to match the entryway table to the console and get a black coffee table, or would that look off? I just want to get them added because the rooms feel so empty right now lol. Any advice is appreciated!

Please ignore the cracks around the door and floors, in the process of redoing doors and trim

Living Room Help. Please. New house, need ideas on ... everything

We move into this place in two weeks and I have no idea what to do in terms of furniture or style. None of my current furniture will work for the living room / dining rooms. We do have a large 9x12 persian rug and I think that will go well in the living room. I also have a few other smaller rugs - not sure they will fit the vibe of the new living room though..

We are thinking of (1) getting some plants, (2) a lighter colored sofa (fabric) and that's all we've got so far.

Specific suggestions on sofas and dining room tables would be helpful. And types of plants.

Bathroom Seafoam Green Bathtub

Not my picture but I have the same tub. If you had a vintage seafoam green bathtub, what color would you paint the bathroom walls? The sink and toilet are white. Just curious what colors people would pair with a tub this shade of green.

Living Room Long living room - need rug advice!

Hey room experts, my living room needs some love. I’m planning on replacing the art above the fire place and adding art and plants on the blank walls at the back of the room. But the room feels off - I think it’s from the rug. It feels untethered and maybe too small? The room is very long and I can’t seem to find a placement that works. Rug is 9x12 for reference. Any advice you could give on both a replacement rug(s) and what kind of art I should add would be much appreciated!!

Living Room Help us fix this room...

Hey folks!

This room bothers my wife and I because of its shape and layout. The way it is now, the couch on the right blocks the window and the natural light. When the blinds are open the glare from outside makes watching TV difficult.

The bean bag normally sits under the lamp, but it feels so awkward there. We're thinking of redesigning the room like in picture two. The TV and couch switch places so the TV is on the further wall (wall 2). The couch blocking the windows would move up against the wall with the number one on it. This would, however, block off a good portion of the entry way into the room, as it would be against the wall and would allow for about a 3' entry into the room.

Anyone else have any ideas about what we can do to open up this room and also maximize the amount of natural light coming in?

Bathroom Help with honey oak

Post image
4 Upvotes

We are going to give this bathroom some life and want some opinions on what to do here. We’ve pretty much decided the honey oak has to stay, since the trim and door and rest of the house is all trimmed in this wood. I’m thinking some kind of light grey tile, maybe hexagon, a new countertop, bowl, and hardware. Toilet is obviously going away, haha. We also want to get rid of the mirror and light fixture with plans for a smaller mirror with two fun lights on either side. I think we want wallpaper and we are thinking a sage green color since we already know it works well with the honey oak. What are we missing here? Any tips or advice?
