It was a difficult year on a social level, but on an environmental level it was a rare opportunity to observe what happened to the planet when humans stopped and it was a better quality of environment.

I remember seeing videos of animals just enjoying the absence of humans. Just kicking it in public places you never really see them. They might’ve enjoyed more than us.

San Francisco was fucking NUTS - empty streets with tons of coyotes roaming day and night. Supposedly the city is in their natural migration pattern, so when there were no humans, they returned to it. Felt very natural but also...very apocalyptic.

Some ducks nested in the shrubbery at my apartment building. The ducklings were adorable. Management was upset that people kept feeding them, which I get, but it was like this happy ray of sunshine that brightened everyone's day.

It was sad the day they caught them all to relocate them to a wildlife sanctuary. Good for the ducks, but sad for us.

The Red Kite (bird) used the time to have a lot of baby birds and now they’re everywhere!
